Brand new and won't turn on.  It's as if there are no batteries in it but we have switched out three different sets of brand new batteries.

there are 3 orange wires, and if you know which ones, which ends do you connect? I tried this and picked the orange that connected to the letters bat on the green board. There was no change

Our son's camera is having the same problem. It acts like there are no batteries in the camera at all. I took the sugestion of testing the white switch inside and it still won't turn on. VERY DISAPOINTED! Fisher-Price is suppose to have great products. My 3 year old was upset when he got it for his birthday and now it's nothing but trash.

The problem is a small toggle switch inside the keyslot where the battery access door goes into. I am not sure yet why it quits getting triggered, but taking the camera apart and bypassing this swich will fix the problem. You can check to see if this is your problem without taking the camera apart by opening the access door and sticking a small screwdriver into the keyslot and flipping (gently) the little white toggle toward the back of the camera and then turning the camera on with the power button. If it comes on then the switch is your problem. I assume they put this switch in to kill power when when the access door is opened so that the camera doesn't get double power when a usb cable is plugged in (I imagine you will FRY your camera if you bypass this switch and then forget and plug in the usb without popping out the battery pack). There are eight screws that hold the cover on the back of the camera, you have to pry out those little pink pegs and then you will need a triangle bit to remove the security screws to access the inside of the camera. The two wires (red and orange) are the two that need to be connected to bypass the switch. write on the bottom of the battert pack (remove before plugging in usb) if you do this modification so you remember to remove battert power before pluggin in the usb. If you don't know what you are doing then I would suggest letting someone with some electronics experience do this.

I just had the same problem. I have read all the troubleshooting guides to try and fix it. I got frustrated and did it myself. Try unlocking the door and hold the power button down as you lock it back. After trying this my sons camera turned right on. I hope this helps someone else.

Try this. there is actually another battery inside the camera. open the door on bottom of camera and then take out the 4 AAs. then unscrew the smaller screw and slide out the drawer-- replace the CR2032. screw everything back into place and voila. back in business. have had this camera for 5 yrs and this is first time i had to do it.

Make sure the door is closed all the way. use a phillips screwdriver to turn the lock (even though it is possible to close with your fingers). Closing the door all the way clicks that white toggle that someone else mentioned into place. our camera works just fine after many frustrating attempts to fix it!

Kid Tough Digital camera is not being recognized on my computer

The camera should not need software to connect to the computer. It should be "Plug & Play". Try plugging the camera into a different USB port (look on the back of the computer). The software is only needed to customize the pictures. Ensure the camera is turned on after plugging in the USB cable. If no result, open the Control Panel and look at the Scanners and Camera settings.
If you know how to view the devices using Device Manager, open it and look for any yellow highlighted icons. If you have any highlighted icons, then that is where the trouble lies.

Just bought a usb cord charger for my nikon coolpix s203 and its been dead fir a couple of days and I wont turn on

You left your camera on for a couple of days? I'd think your batteries are completely drained. The S203 doesn't charge batteries via the USB port. Try charging the batteries overnight using the supplied MH-63 charger.

If that doesn't do it, please reply to this post and we'll go on from there.

Childs digital Camera will not do anything. Batteries are fine. When plugged to USB the camera screen shows USB but nothing else occurs. I took the batteries back out and plugged in the USB cord and had...

I don't know how old it is, but i would take the camera back to the store to try it on one of their computers. Just to rule out your computer settings. The store should have no problems; thinking if it doesn't work the salesman may get an easy sale out of you. Camera does need to be turned 'on' and in the correct mode for the computer to see it. If the computer never recognized the camera, you can download the camera's driver off the internet first.

Good luck

Camera will not turn on.. We have replaced all of the batteries.

If you have an adapter to plug it into a wall outlet, try that. It worked on my camera and after that it has powered up on its own again.

Fisher Price Kid Tough Digital Camera - freezes on logo

This is a solution for getting a working camera, not really to get your camera working. I phoned Fisher Price and was told to format the camera. Turn camera off, plug into USB, right click on the camera drive in my computer and choose format. When this didn't work for me, they sent me a mailing label to send the camera back so they could send me a new one. The formatting is worth a try, and at least you get a new camera when it doesn't work.

The camera has to plugged into a usb 1.1 port, it will not work with a usb 2.0 port. Try using the additional usb ports on a monitor or keyboard. Otherwise you will need to use a usb 1.1 Hub.

Fisher price kid tough camera momentarily turns on then shuts off

We had this happen today with a brand new camera, I called Fisher Price and they said they had a batch of cameras that short out, which is causing the problem. They offered for us to send the camera to them, and they will mail us a new one.
