It would cost about $100-200 for parts.
That doesn't include the repair time. For me it would take about 10-15 minutes.
For a novice about 1-2 hours.
That's the jest of it.
New laptops $200-400 for decent rigs.

SOURCE: Acer 6920 LCD Screen damaged
The screen is impossible to repair if its cracked. Getting a new LCD isn't that expensive but only if you know how to replace it. Getting one from manufacturer is around 130. but there is an ebay link on the bottom you can get one for 70 or so with shipping.
This link shows you how to replace a LCD screen. even tho its not your model but is very close to how yours look.
This is the link to a new LCD screen for your laptop.

I had this exact same problem with my laptop and it was not under warranty. Acer wanted me to send it to their contractor and they were going to charge me over $700 to replace it. I undid the screws holding the screen and used online instructions on how to change a laptop screen. I found the part number, bought one for $80 at the LaptopScreen site, and then replaced the screen. It took me about 30 mins to do it and it is super easy. With online instructions there is no reason even someone with minimal computer knowledge can't fix this themselves
