Dell All in One A920

My printer does not print! It has new cartridge.

    What exactly happens when try to print......
    Does it have any lights blinking on it......
    Does it give any error message on the Computer.......

If your printer has not printed since you changed the cartridge, you either have a bad cartridge, or have not positioned it correctly in its' cradle, or your cable to the cartridges is not aligned/connected properly. Gently push the cartridges cradle to the center (with the unit powered off), and check the cable connection, and the cartridges alignment in the cradle. If all these are correct, try returning the cartridge and replace with a new one (different batch number would also be a good idea).

Is it a Dell cartridge or a generic cartridge? No-name cartridges sometimes lack the chip which the printer looks for. Return the cartridge for an exchange.

My Dell A920 prints blank paper.


Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent inkdrying out in the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages,then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer thanreplace the print head.

Run cleaning utility


  • Clean the Ink Cartridge Nozzles
    • 1 Load printer paper into your Dell A920 Printer.
    • 2 Open the Dell Printer Solution Center on the computer. Click "Start," located in the bottom left corner of your computer. Select "Programs" from the menu displayed. Click "Dell printers." Click "Dell AIO Printer A920" and then click "Dell Printer Solution Center" to open the Dell Printer Solution Center.
    • 3 Click on the "Maintenance" tab and select the option that says, "Clean to fix horizontal streaks."
    • 4 Click "Print." This will print a nozzle print page, which forces ink through all of the nozzles to clean and unclog them.
    • 5 Print a regular document again to see if the print quality has improved. Repeat the cycle up to two more times to improve printing quality.

    My Dell A920 printer will not print the color blue. I've replaced the ink, 2 times. Changed the quality of print to "Best" and still get only the reds & yellows... Any ideas?

    -try the old cartridge if it will print the correct colour; the problem is the cartridge; otherwise it is the printer.

    If you are sure your ink cartridge is not empty, it may be worth running the head cleaner a few times then print a test page.

    Worth a try for nothing.

    You should check:

    1. Did you insert correct the cartridge in the holder?
    2. Check if the contacts are clean in the cartridge holder, maybe something is ther and the needle-type contacts from the printer does not push right on the cartridge contacts.
