There are 2 thermal fuses inside your dryer.
The one that stops it from coming on is located on the exhaust duct on the rear of the dryer.
Unplug the dryer, remove the rear panel.
Look down low at the exhaust duct.
You will see a black and white part about 1 inch long held in by 1 screw.
Replace it.

Chances are an element failed and shorted to ground.

Any fuses or breakers for the unit will be located in the fuse panel in thehouse, not inside the dryer.

My Whirlpool clothes dryer model GEW9200LW0 stopped drying completely. The drum turns but no heat. It began slowing down the heating process approx. 2 years ago. Any suggestions?

Electric Dryer Does Not Heat
  • If your Whirlpool electric dryer is having trouble heating, you should check all of the thermostats, the thermal cut-off, all fuses and the electric heating element for continuity and proper connection.
