SOURCE: TRutech 15" LCD does not pick up all channels

Check your TV settings and make sure your tuning is set for cable (may say "cable" or "CATV"). Right now you'll probably find it set for "air". If the TV is set to tune off-the-air, cable channels 2 through 13 work normally, but above that they aren't detected. Once you set the tuning mode to cable, rescan channels and you should have them all.

SOURCE: My Olevia TV will not change channels using the remote or buttons

First thing, check batteries in remote, next make sure there are no obstructions between your remote and your tv. i would then call olevia tech support and describe your problem. sounds like the remote sensor has failed. usually covered under warranty. check with olevia to see if they have a factory wide problem or issue with remotes. persistance pays off in this case so just keep on top of tech support. hope this helps, john.

SOURCE: my remote control for my polaroid tv wont change channels.

You may be able to program your cable box remote to control your TV in addition to your cable box. When they initially set up your cable box they probably left a pamphlet giving you instructions on how to program your remote. I'm not sure why you can't change the TV channels manually but this may give you a work-around.

Pioneer plasma model PDP-507XA. how can I tune a TV channel?

The PDP-507XA only has an analog tuner. You will need a set-top box (digital to analog converter) to receive over-the-air signals in most places. For analog cable, you need to set the source to TV. Press the Select button, if needed (it's above and to the left of the arrow keys), to put the remote in TV mode. There is also an Input button on the TV. If the Channel Up/Down keys do not work, you need to reset the TV Press the Home Menu button. Navigate to the Setup menu (Up/Down arrows followed by Enter) and select Auto Installation. Enter your password for the TV; the default password is given in the manual on page 41. It's available from Pioneer here: docs.pioneer.eu/Manuals/PDP_507XA_ARE1430_manual . Set the Language (use the Up/Down arrows followed by Enter. Then use the Left/Right arrows to change the setting). Then set the Country. Press Start to begin a scan for channels. Alternatively, select Analogue TV Setup and enter the password. Then identify the correct receiving system. Manually enter the channels in the Search area. Set Store to Yes to save channels.

I hope this helps.

Sharp LC-37DB5U stuck on one channel. Won't respond to anything. Put in a new motherboard and same problem persists. Sound and picture are fine

I could be wrong, but it sounds like the TV hasn't gone through channel setup. You have to do this in order for the TV to "learn" the channels, assuming you are using cable. If you are using cable run channel search in the setup menu and see if that changes anything. Can you change channels by manually entering in the channel # and hitting enter?

To see if the problem is with your remote control, go to the receiver and use the channel up/down buttons on the receiver itself. If you can change your channels with the buttons on the receiver, the batteries in your remote control probably need to be changed.

If you can't change channels from the receiver, turn off the receiver. Then unplug it for at least 15 seconds. Plug the receiver back it and turn it on. Again, try changing channels from the receiver itself.

Tune to a channel, and while programming is playing, try tuning to the missing channel by entering the channel number on the remote control keypad to see if channels change. Do not try to select the channel from a channel list, program guide, or favorites list.

If this approach takes you to the correct channel, you need to adjust your favorites list function. Press the "guide" button on your remote. Look for a button on your remote called "fav" or "list." Press it several times and watch for an indication at the top of the guide that you are moving from "all channels" to a particular favorites list.

If you are locked on one channel only, your Channel Lock feature is likely active. Consult your owner's manual to unlock the rest of your channels. See your owner's manual for information on managing favorite channel lists and locking out channels. Enter your password, if necessary.

Black rectangle in the screen and wont change channels

The rectangle is the set or the box if used in the closed caption area is set or TEXT is selected--turn that off.

Won't change channels: up or down? Direct enter a channel with the remote 03 and enter to see if it works that way.

Also need to know if you are using a box for signal.

Resolve the text issue first so you can clearly see the regular screen.

Let me know what happens and what you have tried.

We dont have a manual and we dont know how to change the channel or set the time

To set the clock on the unit, have the TV connected to power but not on. Then press and hold Mem/Clck Adj on the TV (it's the third button from the right in the top row of controls). Use the adjacent Tune/Clk (up/down arrows) to set the clock for 12 or 24 hour time. Then press Mem/Clk Adj again to adjust the hour with the up/down arrows. Press Mem/Clk Adj again and set the minutes. Press Mem/Clk Adj to save the time. The original remote also has these buttons. Mem/Clk Adj is also labeled Set and is the furthest right button on the second to bottom row of the remote. The Tune/Clk buttons are the DN and UP buttons on the left of this row.

Use the Tune/Clk arrows to change the radio channels after pressing the radio button (second from the right on the bottom row). When you press the TV button (first on the right of the bottom row) to watch TV, then you need to use the Channel up/down arrows at the top and bottom of the ring control on the far right of the TV or the Channel + and Channel - buttons on the remote. On the remote, the Channel + button is below the timer button which is below 9 in the keypad section. Enter is below the Channel + button and Channel - is below Enter. Make sure that the TV is in the correct mode for your signal (ATSC for OTA and NTSC for analog cable) by pressing the TV mode button. If you are using a set top box, you will need to change the channels at the box.

Press the TV Menu button and then go down the list to Time to set the time zone for the TV. Press Enter to save the setting. Use the TV Scan button to get a list of available channels before trying to change channels.
