It has a small sliding plastic panel that exposes button controls but not the batteries. There are no other accessible compartments nor screws. Please Help

I got it. This solved the problem:Battery replacement: 1. Slide the lower control cover on the remote down until it stops. Continue pulling (gently) until the lower section separates completely from the unit. 2. Insert batteries (AAA) as depicted inside the battery chamber.() 3. Re-install lower cover.

Do I have to put in water in order to make it colder?? and if so where...and does it collects water, at what point do i dump?? thanks in advance

You DO NOT have to add water. The unit collects humidity out of the air, if you're operating the dehumidifier, in addition to the AC part of the unit. It is not necessary to operate the dehumidifier and the AC side at the same time. Once the water collection tank is full, the unit should shut off and the bucket full warning indicator will glow. This is when you drain the water from the tank, as described in the Owner's Manual. So, just in case you have misplaced the Owner's Manual, I have included a link to it that you can download and print for future reference.

It runs 5 to 10 minutes, then it stops. When I press the remote control boton, it works again for 5 to 10 minutes and then it stops. So I need to repress the remote control again to make it starts.

I guess you are having a problem. That model dehumidifier doesn't have a remote control. As a matter of fact, I'm not aware of any model dehumidifier that has a remote control. A remote would be useless. Now, some portable air conditioners have remote controls. Is that what you have? A portable A/C unit? Please advise. Thanks.

My danby air conditioner/dehumidifier model dpac 8399-4 leaks water all over the floor and never fills the holding tanks what can I do to fix this problem?

Probably needs cleaning. I assume it is on a level surface. Water drips from the evaporator coil into a collection tray of some type and then drains into the holding tank, this tray is either broken or the outlet is plugged.
Good Luck,
Gilsh
