Question about Canon Dr-7550c Color Duplex SCSI-Iii USB Scanner
My unit is almost a year old and the scan count is only 12,000. Paper tray not lifting. When using DRUnification Tool to check the sensors The paper detect sensor in the lower unit (paper tray) works fine. The pick unit paper detect sensor in the upper unit just below the feed roller however is on. When I cover the sensor with my hands it turns off. If I close upper unit the sensor light turns back on and tray does not lift. I lift upper unit and cover sensor with my hand and it turns off. If I lower upper unit almost to close and leave it for a minute before closing it, the sensor lights remain off and when I close it completely the light remains off and paper tray lifts. However when I scan documents and after the last page the pick up roller makes a loud noise and bounces up and down. When this happens the paper try will not lift and when I check the DRUnification Tool the pick unit paper detect sensor is lights are on again. Do I need to replace the board and sensor for the paper that is in the upper unit? If so what is the part or part #. Please help. Thank you.

On the right side of the scanner there is a motor just behind the small bulge in the cabinet. The motor lifts the paper tray through a bevel gear. Incase the palstic gear is damaged, it maynot lift the tray. U may need to change the gear.
Even if the tray is overloaded, the tray will not lift.

Hello Joel, the problem with your scanner is from the rollers. The rollers are a bit stiff therefore the repeated jamming on the paper inside the system. What you have to do is get an expert to help service the unit and apply oils in the main parts which matter for the roller to move effectively. once this is done the unit will let the paper pass through and function effectively.
Hope this solution has been helpful?
