What are the pin voltages of 4UR18650F-2-QC-MA1 laptop battery?

Hi,

I have 4UR18650F-2-QC-MA1 Gateway laptop battery. It has 7 pins.
I want to know the pins voltages (output or charging) for each pin of the battery.
I have a external charger which is made for charging similar battery which has exactly same specs (Li-ion 14.8V 4800mAh 8 cells). But the connector is different. (Charger has 5 pins)

I want to match charger pin voltages to the battery pin voltages.

Could you please let me know the voltages on each pin of the battery?
or If you have external charger for the same battery, voltages on the charger?

Thanks,
Arvind

SOURCE: Battery for iBook 14inch not recognized by iBook

you could try resetting your pram..?

Resetting PRAM and NVRAM

  1. Shut down the computer.
  2. Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
  3. Turn on the computer.
  4. Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
  5. Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
  6. Release the keys.
Your computer's PRAM and the NVRAM are reset to the default values. The clock settings may be reset to a default date on some models.
Resetting PMU on PowerBook or iBook computers In some troubleshooting situations, if resetting PRAM does not resolve an issue, resetting the PMU may be the next appropriate step. For information on when this is appropriate and for instructions on how to reset the PMU in your PowerBook computer, see Resetting PowerBook and iBook Power Management Unit (PMU).

Low voltage battery

Hi Anonymous, perform the following tests:
1. Fill acid type batteries to proper levels.
2. Charge battery overnight at 1-2 amps you need 12 volts or better after charging.
3. Make sure all connections are clean and tight especially the negative cable at both ends.
4. Hook up volt meter to battery and start engine, if meter falls below 9.5 v replace battery.
5. With engine running at 3600 RPM battery should read 14.3-14.7 volts if not continue tests.
6. Unplug voltage regulator from alternator at crankcase by front of primary cover.
7. Clip a testlite to a good ground and touch regulator pin, if light glows replace regulator.
8. With ohm meter, one lead grounded, touch alternator pin meter should read infinity, if not replace stator.
9. With ohm meter, both leads touching alternator pins meter should read 0.1 to 0.2 ohms on 1989 and later models. 0.2 to 0.4 ohms 1988 and earlier models, if not replace stator.
10. With volt meter set on AC scale, both leads touching alternator pins meter should read
16 to 20 volts AC for every 1000 RPM'S 1989 and later and 19 to 26 volts AC for every 1000 RPMS. If not replace rotor. Good luck

Gateway 500GR Mother board Connector S Wiring

You are correct so far.

This is a perfect example of using deductive reasoning based on intelligent thought.

'Armed' with that I can see you will go far in life.

Gateway Support > Gateway 500GR Desktop PC > Main Support page,

http://support.gateway.com/s/PC/R/3724/3724nv.shtml

Click on Components in the list.
Scroll down. Under the bold black heading - Motherboards - click on
102007 - Intel (Augsburg) No CPU Motherboard R0

Click on Specifications.
Chipset: Intel 915G Chipset

http://www.ascendtech.us/gateway-augsburg-intel-915g-motherboard_i_mb4gwaugsburg.aspx

The front of your computer is the Front Panel.
The area of contact pins on the motherboard, that the wires from the Front Panel go to, is the Front Panel header.

In the photo the Front Panel header is marked by the letter S.

Let's go to Intel Support, and download the Product Guide for an Intel D915GAV motherboard,

http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/CS-012048.htm

Click on the blue -
Intel Desktop Board D915GAV Product Guide - (English) PDF
Scroll your mouse cursor to the bottom/middle of the page, to bring the 'ghosted out' navigation guide into view.

Click on the Adobe PDF icon to the far right.
(When you hover your mouse cursor over it, "Show Adobe Reader toolbar" is briefly shown)

Different design motherboard in the layout of certain headers, and connectors, but same Ol' Front Panel header pinout, Intel uses for 10 pin Front Panel header's.
Whether it is an Intel O.E.M. motherboard, or one they made for a pre-built computer manufacturer.

Front Panel header for Gateway 500GR, is next to the bottom edge of the motherboard, and all the way towards the right.
5 pins across the Top row, 4 pins across the bottom row.

Pins on the Top row are numbered ODD.
Pins on the Bottom row are numbered EVEN.

TOP row; Starting on the RIGHT side going towards the Left;
Pins 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9.

BOTTOM row; Starting on the Right side going towards the Left;
Pins 2, 4, 6, and 8. There is NO Pin 10.

A) Pins 1 and 3 are for the HarDDrive activity LED. (Light Emitting Diode)

Pin 1 is for the Positive ( + ) wire. If the HDD LED is dim when the Harddrive is active, switch the wires around.

B) Pins 5 and 7 are for a Reset switch, IF a Reset switch is used.

C) Pin 9 is N/C. No Connection. Pin reserved for the factory.
(5 Volts DC)

D) Pins 2 and 4 are for the Power On LED.
Pin 2 is for the Positive ( + ) wire.
If the PWR ON LED is dim when the computer is on, switch the wires around.

E) Pins 6 and 8 are for the Power On switch.

F) Again, there is No pin 10.

7 pin connector trailer back up light no voltage

Pull one of your tailights on truck, and find wire to back-up on it, then run jumper down to 7 pin plug. Might save a lot of trouble/time.

My gateway MA1 laptop running win xp has cooling problems

Contact GATEWAY, and get them to fix your laptop.
The fan is designed to run at "full-speed" when you first turn it on, and then there are temperature sensors that slow the fan down, to minimize noise, while the computer is "cool" enough that the fan does not need to run. The sensor is malfunctioning, and is not turning-on (or turning-up) the fan when the computer gets "warm".

Which connectors are used for front panel, power on (red @white) and led ( blue @ white) please show a close-up view

Hi,
On the motherboard the pinouts on the front panel should be colour coded, and marked with letters like in this picture >>>>>
ce10baf.jpg

The connectors are also marked corresponding to where the connect on the motherboard, like in this picture >>>>>>
66ce2fc.jpg

If the board is not colour coded then the motherboard will marked with the same letters, you may need a strong light to see the marks.

Regards.

I need to reset my bios password on my Gateway T6836...does anyone know how?

hi
1} visit the website to recover your BIOS password
http://www.pwcrack.com/bios.shtml
OR

2}it is very risky to unlock it on your own .it involves shorting of pins on the motherboard (remove the Cmos battery and put it after 1min)
clear the password

Gateway Laptop it not powering with or battery or plugged in

Try to connect AC/DC power supply to your PC. If it works there is something wrong with your DC Battery. If you have done this, try to use tester to test if the power battery can still transmit power from source. If power is down, may be another kind of battery that is compatible to your PC. Insert only battery required for your laptop that would destroy your PC totally.
