Question about Clarion EQS746 Equalizer - 7-Band In-Dash Rotary Equalizer with Subwoofer Crossover Auxiliary Input Car Equalizer

Back rear speaker wont play when singled out. more details inside

I have a cd player with 3 preouts, and a 4channel amp. i got this clarion eq746 installed. my rca's are run directly from the amp to the eq out slots and one rca coming from the cd players front pre out to the EQ's main in slot. if i balance all the way to the right using my radio and fade to the rear both left and right speakers play. but if i balance to the left and fade to the rear no music will play out of either rear speaker. why do both speakers play when only the right rear should be playing? also why doesnt the left rear play at all when it is singled out with fade and balance? but when everything is set to zero (balance and fade) all 4 speakers work. i am not using any Y cables or splitting any signal. i am running a set of 4channel rca's. is something on the inside of my eq getting the rear left and right signal confused? what could be causing this?

i have been in car audio for years. everythign is hooked up as should be. i did not use any short cuts here with the install. i just cant figure out why or how something like this could be happening? please help me out m1chae11ane123@yahoo email<

I would suggest you mdisconnect the rear speakers from the amp, take a 9volt battery and click te speakers on at a time. If proble duplicated, the you have the left speaker tied to the right somewhere.

Head unit connect

You will only be able to use this EQ on the front or the rear speakers. You will have to get another EQ if you think you need one. Usually, the front speakers of a car's audio system are the smallest and the rears are larger. You really do not want an EQ on the subs. If it was mine, I would hook the EQ between the head unit and the rear speakers. If you feel this does not sound right, you may need, but I doubt it very much, to get another EQ for the front speakers. Good Luck

Hi i trying to figure out how to wire up my rca's i have a pionner deck in on the back of it it has front output, rear output, sub output ,and also a audio output .now im trying to up it to a clarion eq that...

The "Front output" from the Pioneer deck would connect to the "Main In" on the Clarion EQ. I'm assuming that your Clarion EQ can only deal with one input, and will send the adjusted (equalized) signal out both of the outputs.
The "Front output" from the Clarion EQ should go to the "Front Input" on the 4 channel amp.
The "Rear output" from the Clarion EQ should go to the "Rear Input" on the 4 channel amp.
The "Sub output" from the Pioneer deck would connect to the Left/Right Input on the Epicenter. The Left/Right Output on the Epicenter would need a Y-splitter for each side, so that you could connect each amp separately. One suggestion would be to use one sub amp for both subs.

How do I hook up the two stereo output RCA wires ( 1 L & 1R ) to the EQ input wires that are green/green&white & grey/grey&white?

you will only be able to control 1 pair of speakers, you can try an inline converter. always buy a stereo with 3 preouts especially if you plan on using equalizers/amps ect
