Mits. rear projection tv ws65905 picture has blue color tint

Your blue picture tube is failing. Invest in a new TV. "If" you can find a new set of tubes(you have to replace all 3 red blue and green) they are around $800-1000. Not cost effective. Run the TV into the ground if you want to wait but do not invest any repair money in my opinion.

Panasonic Viera PC-to-TV Via VGA has Purple Tint

Purple Panasonic PC>TV Problem:
The VGA cable uses three primary color RGB channels.
Red, Green, and Blue.
The picture is made up of pixels or dots arranged in a grid along the "X" horizontal axis and "Y" vertical axis.
The computer mixes the intensity of each color channel to create a unique color per pixel.
All RGB at 100% creates white.
R+G creates yellow.
R+B creates magenta, ie purplish.
G+B creates cyan.
So a purplish tint sounds as if your Green wire has no signal, which may indicate a faulty VGA cable or VGA socket.
Put another way, (R+G+B)-G=R+B=magenta.
So try another VGA cable, spray all socket pins with "Servisol " or similar contact cleaner.

You have a projection TV - basically a red, green, and blue spotlight is shown onto the back of an opaque screen that creates the color picture you see. The spotlights you are seeing is common for a TV of this vintage and type.

According to the user's manual, you should ideally be sitting no closer than 10 feet to the screen.

Sitting closer to the screen may enhance the phenomenon you are experiencing.
