In side there is a small circuit board with 2 two capacitors that have gone out
These will be 2200uf 6.3v simple repair replace the capacitors observer polarity (+ )or( -)
Almost any old computer mother board will have the parts you need this is common many power supply’s and switches develop the same problem 2200uf x10v will be okay the voltage rating is only the size once repaired the lights will flash once and the switch will be back working like new .
Remember when soldering on electronics to use” Isolated “device or unplug the iron from AC voltage before touching the circuit board Very nice switch’s the Zonet I own 7 and have repaired one that was given to me because the lights stayed on . If you install the capacitor wrong it will make a nice mess and blow everywhere so observe how you remove and be sure to replace exactly the same way .

SOURCE: which port do i plug in the ethernet cord from the

Hi,

It is basically a switch so if you are planning to connect more than one computer using this switch than you need to connect a router in between modem and switch

modem -- > router -- > switch -- > computer

from your modem an ethernet cable will connect into an internet port on the router and than from LAN port of a router cable will connect into any port on your switch.

Let me know in case if you need more help :)

How to connect also sonet zfs3116 to my home system

can't find manual for it but it says it's a 16 port. If all 16 ports are labeled identically, just use a standard ethernet cable (i.e. patch cable) from the switch to your router. If there's one port that is a different color or labeled uplink or labeled 'wan' plug that into your router. Then plug all your other devices into the other ports.

I'm assuming you have a router. If not get one. You should not be connected to the internet without a router.

I am trying to set up a switch between my PS3 and my PC. I have an external DSL modem. I purchased a 5 port switch(Rosewill RC405-x) but no luck. Can I use an ethernet splitter instead?

You did not explainhaow you connected all your equipment together.
Connect your PC and PS3 into the 5 port switch.
Connect your DSL modem into the 5 port switch, if there is a WAN/internet port on the 5 port switch then connect the DSL model into this port.
You may need to power off the 5 port switch wait a 1 min and power up the 5 port switch again so it can setup an IP address table for the connected ports.
If this still does not work the replace the 5 port switch with a normal 5 port hub.

I just bought a laptop computer and I already had a desktop. My internet provider is Hugesnet Satelite. I bought a Netgear N600 wireless dual band router thinking I could just hook it up to my desktop...

The HN9000 should have an ethernet port. You will require two ethernet cables to connect the desktop to the router.
1. Connect the ethernet cable from the Modem to the Ethernet Input port on the Router (It is generally placed away from the other ports on the back of the router.) 2. Connect another ethernet cord from one of the output ports on the router to the desktop computer. 3. On the laptop, turn on your wireless card. The process for this differs from computer to computer. If you were to provide the model of laptop, I could provide you specific instructions. 4. The network setup should be complete.

Make sure you're using a crossover ethernet cable to connect the router to the switch. Also make sure that the router has it's DHCP server up and running.

DES-1008D connectivity issues.

Is the modem a DSL or cable model?
Does the router have one ethernet port and a WAN port?
Normally the broadband modem is connected to the WAN port on the router and the ethernet port on the router is then connected to the hub/switch and the computers are then connected to the hub/switch.
The modem gets an unique IP address from your Internet Service Provider and then the router then issues Class "C" IP addresses to each computer that is connected to the switch/hub.

Wont connect and software cd

To connect a router or a dsl modem to a switch you either have to use port 4 or use a utp crossover cable. As you can see on the Netgear FS605 the modem/router has to be connected to port 4.

The correct way to connect these devices is:

Modem > Router > Switch > Computers

Yes, but you'll need a crossover cable to connect the two routers. You could buy a hub or a switch. They are easier to configure and cheaper.
