No, this is a micro switch issue, to prove this find the single black lead coming from the ignition unit ( cut out wire ) and diss connect it and try again, be aware it will not switch off at the ignition switch with this wire not connected.

SOURCE: Battery?, wiring??

If your Alternator didn't charging the battery, even though you brand new battery will not last. So there is two possible cause, 1) Your Alternator is not functioning. 2) there is a wiring problem that causing your battery to discharge easily, but you check it after you switch off the key remove the battery negative terminal then touch it back to batt term. and see if there is little blue spark, if does your wiring system got problem. If not, so your Alternator do not charge the battery.

LTX 1042 KW wont start. I was running my mower, had to stop for a moment, now it will not start. It won't even try to turn over

Make sure blade is engaged and you are seated firmly on seat. If so either your blade or seat safety switch is bad. Also your brake pedal bas to be completely engaged.

Why does my riding mower die when put in gear or engage the blades

Check out the grass box safety switch. if not fully depressed it will apply brakes to the blades when in gear. Most mowers are designed with a safety switch to stop the blades, or forward motion if the grass box is not fitted correctly.

Why does my rover rancher stall when i go to engage the cutting deck

1>the pressure switch under the seat may be malfunctioning? (it will cause the engine to die immediately when trying to engage the cutting blades because it thinks your not sitting in the seat.
2>dirty or clogged air cleaner element will cause engine to die when engaging cutting blades. This can be tested very easily by removing the air cleaner element and then trying to engage the blades again. If this works then replace air cleaner element immediately before running the engine anymore.
I have personally experienced both of these problems myself more that once.

Replace switches & clutch. When brake is release everything dies. Ineed a wiring diagram.

There are a few safety switches on a riding mower. One is the brake clutch, which must be engaged to start mower if not in neutral for a manual transaxle. Another is a blade engaged safety that will not allow you to start it with the blades engaged and the other is the seat safety that prevents starting if the brake is not engaged.

If the seat safety switch is messed up and you release the brake it will kill the engine. I would start there.

I hope this helps get you going.

My craftsman mower shuts off every time the blades are engaged. What is the problem?

you most likely have a shorted or open safety switch. you did not mention year or model # so I can only guess what configuration you have, but typically there are the following safety switches on a riding lawn mower: clutch/brake on switch (under floorboard at clutch, this allows you to get off the tractor with engine running if brake is applied), Reverse gear safety switch (will shut engine off if attempting to go in reverse with blades on...follow the gear handle rod down to transmission, may be internal or external of differential), there is also usually a disable switch to allow blade operation in Reverse and this is usually relay operated via a button or turn of the key position, Seat safety switch (under seat and usually is disabled via engaging the clutch/brake switch, this switch will kill the motor if you come off of the seat unless brake is applied), and of course a switch that is tied in to tell when blades are engaged (engage handle or PTO switch). It is actually simpler than it sounds and you dont' need to be an electrician to figure it out. start out with a visual inspection of the switches that you can see. I would suspect the transmission position (reverse) switch first, do you have an override? if so, turn it on and see if engine stays running with blades engaged. hope this helps and here is a link to a company that deals mower parts and has alot of great parts breakdown illustrations online. A craftsman is pretty much the same as a MTD or White Outdoor model, so look those up and it will show you the areas where switches are.

Cub Cadet-Blades won't stay engaged

sounds like either a saftey switch problem or a bad drive clutch on the pto. usuallly the mower shuts down, not the blades, they may have changed this though. my best guess would be a safety sensor try calling your local cub dealer and talking to the repair person he can shed light on the problem.
