Black bakelite swivel piece shattered.

The waffle maker fell off shelf and the black plastic swivel piece at the rear of the maker that houses all the wires shattered. Can this piece be replaced and if so what is the part number and where can it be purchased? Is this repairable?

Carefully drill a tiny hole in the center of the back plastic part.  Then drill a 1/4 inch hold centered on the first drill hole.  Put a 1/4/ threaded rod through the hole with a locking bolt on each side. But extra threaded bolt with a hacksaw.  Tighten bolts to just touch plastic.  See picture attached for solution.  When drilling hold be careful not to tough the plastic coated wire bundle.

We had one of the screws that hold the lid on the waffle maker break and fall off on the first use. Do you kno wwhere we get a new screw?

try to do an exchange at where you got it from. If you are unable to I would go to Home Depot and match it up rather than wait 4-6 weeks to get one from Black and Decker

Broken shaft

I made a template of the shaft, cut out a sturdy piece of tin to straddle the break, and then screwed that piece in at both ends after securely fitting the break together. A lot of work, but the waffle maker works great!

The screw that holds the metal cover to the grid is hidden under the black Cuisinart piece on the top. There are 4 ears which lock it down. I'm not sure the best way to get them open, as I broke mine opening it. Looks like if you take a metal putty knife, and push toward the hinge from the handle, at the end of the radius at each side, it may pop off for you. The other two are about 3/4" off the back of the piece, and should get out of the way as you lift the front.

Now, does anyone know where to get a replacement black cuisinart piece?

Proceed at your own risk, this information is worth what you paid for it, and I broke mine in the process.
