I am no expert in Akai units but the GX-635D I was working on had a screw off cap and then there was a nut that unscrewed to get the Pinch Roller off. That is all I can say as far as help- the cap should unscrew counter clock wise.

Thank you Sam, that is what I found out by myselve. With strong fingers I could unscrew the cap without any damage, then I could loosen the nut to get the Pinch Roller off. Meanwhile I found the service manual of this Akai to download. That helped too. After all, I have a completely refurbished Akai GX 260 tape deck. That works perfect!

SOURCE: need owners manual for akai gx260d reel to reel

Hi David,
I can give you this link. You can download the service manual of this Akai. I hope it will be usable for you.
When you get to the site using the link it is possible that you have to wait a little bit to be able to download.
After waiting you should see a button as "Get Manual" and simply click on it and save the file.
Thanks.

My akai dlp tv stopped working

Akai is really Samsung---

Remove and inspect lamp to see if shattered inside--it is a cartridge and very easy to remove.

With it out look where the lamp faces and see if the color wheel pictured here is intact (no pieces missing etc).

Akai rear projection tv suddenly stopped working.

This set with Akai is actually made by Samsung (they own and use the Akai name).

If lamp light etc and you have heard a cracking sound it may be the color wheel.

You can remove the lamp and look where it faces--look and the wheel can be seen----is it shattered or missing plastic pieces?

The wheel commonly fails in this fashion and is turning at over 12,000 rpm. The set will detect if the wheel is stopped or moving too slow and just what you describe will happen.

Wheel is widely available and You Tube has video instructions for replacing them by model number.

How do you take off the front tire on the cr 125

The right hand side of the axle requires a 17 or 19mm Allen key to remove it properly. That side of the axle slides thru the fork and the shoulder spaces the wheel. It is retained by the 2 pinch bolts on each fork leg. If you don't have the big Allen key, do this-
Remove the axle nut on the brake side. Remove the 2 bolts that hold the brake caliper on and swing it out of the way.Loosen the pinch bolts. The axle should slide out now-if it's corroded, you may need a hammer and a drift to drive it out. Be careful not to damage the threads.Note the spacer on the brake rotor side. When putting it back together, clean and lightly grease the axle. Also grease the inside of the lip seals for the bearings. Reinstall the wheel, with the hex end of the axle flush with the fork leg. Tighten the pinch bolts on that side only, and torque the axle nut to about 40NM. Loosen the pinch bolts, and compress your forks down a couple of times. This insures your fork legs are parallel and the wheel is centered. Tighten the pinch bolts, reinstall the caliper and you're good to go!

Hey guys. Just wondering what the proper procedure for removing the front tire from my 2002 kx 125 would be? Dont want to break anything

Proper proceedure would include a 17 or 19mm allen socket for the end of the axle, but normally you can get the axle nut loose by leaving the 2 pinch bolts tight in that end of the axle. So, in order-
1-remove axle nut. 2-remove 2 bolts holding the brake caliper to the fork and tie it back out of the way.3 loosen the pinch bolts at the bottom of both fork tubes, this will allow the axle to slide out. There will be a spacer on the rotor side of the wheel for the bearing, remember this when you reinstall.
Installation-1-clean and lightly grease the axle and inside the bearing seals. 2-install spacer on rotor side of the wheel. 3-reinstall wheel onto the forks, tighten axle nut, leave the pinch bolts loose. 4-with the pinch bolts loose, compress the forks down-this insures that they are parallel to each other. If they forks aren't parallel, they will wear the bushings and fork seals prematurely. 5-tighten the pinch bolts to about 15NM. 6-torque axle nut to 40NM. 7-reinstall caliper.

What is the procedure I need to follow to remove front wheel to replace front tire on my 2001 ZX-9R Ninja motorcycle ?

you need to raise front wheel from ground with hoist or stand
remove brake calliper bolts and then twist callipers on disc to push pads back so that you can remove callipers.
loosen pinch bolts on one fork leg then undo axle nut ( large allan bolt) loosen other pinch bolts on other leg and remove axle and spacers/speedo drive and the wheel. take note where spacers go and also make sure to line up speedo drive tangs correctly when refitting wheel in reverse order to taking apart.

82 650maxim,rear wheel removal from driveshaft. trying to help a female friend out and have not worked on shaft drive

Should be fairly easy if you are used to working on bikes in general. Disconnect rear brake torque arm from the brake housing and the lever from the cam arm (moves the rear brake shoes out when twisted). Remove the split pin from the castellated nut; remove the nut; loosten the axle pinch bolts and remove the axle. Pull the wheel back and to the right to clear the drive splines. Reassemble torque values are 77.4 ftlb for the castellated nut and 4.5 ftlb for the axle pinch bolt.
