Question about Sony Grand WEGA KDF-60WF655 60" Rear Projection HDTV
This problem just happened a few months ago I was watching a program on TV then suddenly the picture became distroted somwhat and turned green for a second, then turns off, however the audion still went on for maybe about two seconds more before It really turned off.
Some people say it's a Bulb that went bad, one person says it's a problem with the power supply.
Most likely your green crt has a short in it
open up the front and locate the focus block
Very carefully turn down the screen controls Be sure they are the ones that say screen
If you can get the tv to come back on slightly tap the green crt
That is the one in the middle
If you get green flashing on the screen it id the green crt and it is shorted
It may not be economical to repair
I would not tackle this unless you had a tv guy with you
The crts have a 12000v charge on them
The cant kill you but you hair will stand on end
Be careful and good luck
