Question about Subaru 1996 Legacy Outback A/C Compressor

Had a cold snap it wont start,charged batt next day it started ,put heat in fuel and filled it up ,drove it for an hour or so ran fine, next morning it will start but will not keep running. wont idle

I held it at buy hand at about 2000 rpm until the fans came on. then it sat at idle for 10 min, shut it off, started it up now i give it gas and it wants to die

I think you should check your battery and alternator.If they both check good you may have a battery draw,something draining the battery over night.Check your doors make sure they are closing like they should.

I have a 2006 H2 Hummer, I drove it to mrytle Beach, SC about 3 hours away. I parked at the hotel to chech in, got back in my vehicle about 15 minutes later and I could not get it to start. Had to be towed...


All the classic symptoms of a bad starter. A bad starter will work fine when cold but once it heats up, will require more power to work. Shame on the dealer for not recognizing this! A new battery with a full charge will work for a little while but if its the starter, I'm sure the problem will return Have your charging system checked out (most places will do this free of charge) Assuming the charging system checks out ok, I'd have the starter checked. Battery dies in extremely cold weather


Sounds to me like you have a weak batt. also if you rear lights are sticking on some times that could drain it
