Question about Humidifiers

HE220A1019 Whole House Humidifier

Were you referring to the furnace blower turning the wrong way.. I assumed you were talking about the humidifier blower... the furnace is new and working fine, it is an up-flow. The humidifier is not a bypass type, it just has a fan inside which is pulling air into itself... I was assuming it would push air through the filter and into the hot air plenum. I have it installed just above the furnace and the humidistat on the return air side. hope this gets on the same page if there was a misunderstanding. thanks for your time...

The humidifier is designed to "pull" the air through the water panel. After it does the humidified air will re-enter the plenum on the side of the opening that it is pulling in from. Just keep the water panel replaced every year and you will be fine.

I hooked the humidifer up and water keeps running it dose not stop when furnace stops. What might be wrong?

Hello, this could be tw o different things. when you install a humidifier you need a means of turning it on and off with the furnaces blower motor, this is done by either a sail switch, current sensing relay, or by the transformer being hooked up directly to the furnaces control board. if you do not have one of those three than the humidifier will run continuously untill u manually turn it off at the humidistat. If you have one of those three installed already than the solenoid valve is stuck and must be replaced.

Water constantly runs when furnace is on or off. I wired it exactly how the diagram said but the water never shuts off.

Hello, In order for the humidifier to turn on and off you need either a sail switch or current sensing relay. A sail switch senses air flow and will turn on the humidifier when the blower motor kicks on and a current sensing relay senses current through the blower motors common wire. If you have either of theses hooked up already and the solenoid valve remains open then the solenoid valve must be replaced.

I hooked up a honeywell HE220A by-pass humidifier and the water is constantly running with the furnace on or off. I wired it the same way the diagram said using the transformer that plugs into an outlet,...

If you have very old furnace, does it have a blower with a belt. If it does it should only have 2 wires going to blower. If it has 2 you should be able to use the transformer you have plugged into wall and splice into 2 wires going to blower. If you have more than 2 wires to blower, you will need to find out which one is used for heat plus use the white one. If you have a voltage sensor you should be able to find it easily.

Honeywell 22a worked fine last year this year will not turn on.

Check solenoid 24V. You should here a "click" when you turn on the unit when furnace is running. These things clog up with chemicals.

I've installed a Honeywell 220A whole house humidifier. I've wired the humidifier, sail switch, humidistat and transformer according to the directions, but nothing happens when I turn it on. No water is...

push sail switch forward by hand to see if that is the problem.
Remove two wires at humidifier and connect them if it starts than it is in wiring, humidistat, or transformer.

Honeywell HE225 Humidifier will not draw water

Check for 24volts at the valve. Some techs install these so it only comes on when the furnace calls for heat. It should have its own transformer.

Sounds like you Connected the humid trans fromer directly to a main power source. It should be either on the EAC or HUM term on the board of the furnace.
