Question about HP ProBook 6540b Notebook

1 Answer

HP ProBook 6540b Notebook PC hangs at HP logo (pre-windows) on resume. Appears that drivelock lights ("A+lock symbol" and "1+lock symbol) flash several times, and then it is just stuck. Drivelock is

Windows ultimate 64 installed, but does not appear to be windows. Hangs on resume and sometimes fresh startup at the HP logo before windows. Drivelock is turned off in bios. Sometimes it is possible to push esc to enter the startup menu and then continue to load windows, but often it is not possible. Rarely it also hangs on fresh start of windows in the same way, but much less often - usually starts ok, but still often requires a long wait at the HP logo screen or pressing esc then enter to bypass it.

you could go to go to support/downloads give your make model and operating system then scroll down and look for another audio driver and download it

windows will probably ask you to restart once it is installed

hopefully this will sort it for you

or go here and download a driver both are good drivers

good luck
