Marquis, Destiny (2007 roughly). It was leaking from the connectiors to the heater,. which in turn soaked the pump and tripped the breaker. I replaced the heater 2 winters ago and it was working fine, however we last used it in the fall and I have no idea when it stopped working.

Is it leaking at the union connections? If so, replace the 2" o-rings with ribbed gaskets. These are preffereed over the o-rings. If it is leaking thru the electrode of the element itself, you can just replace the element with either 4.0, 4.5, 5.5 or 6.0 KW style. They also come in either regular or coated.

Yes it is leaking from the union connections and is using the white o rings. Where is a good source for the gaskets?

  • Mike Tellegen Jan 24, 2013

Contact psmsvc@gmail and the person that replies can assist you. Tell her Mike referred. . You need 2" ribbed gaskets.

How do I fix a water leak in my hot tub or spa

That's a tough question to answer without more details. The majority of leaks occur in the equipment area of the spa. IE: where the control pac, pumps and heater are located. There should be one side of the spa with a removable panel to access this area. Take a flashlight and look in that area. Look at all the connections where the hoses attach to the pumps and heater. These connections will have gaskets or o rings to create a seal. They where out over time. Look at the connections with the pumps on and with them off. If you don't see a leak in that area you may have to call in a technician to find it. This ca be difficult depending on the make of the spa. Good luck

Hot tub leaks, not from pump or heater.

Most leaking plumbing issues from a spa are to in depth for a home owner to pay for the repair. Use MARLIG FIX A LEAK and this will fix almost any small-medium leak.

Hayward Model H250IDL is leaking water from drain valve.

Water leaking from the heater is not a good sign. This is an indication of a leaking heat exhanger. The heat exchanger will have to be replaced and the part is made of copper. It is very expensive, depending on the age, you may just want to replace the entire heater. Exchangers usually leak due to bad water chemistry.

Heater leaking water

The manual is on Pentair's site. If you are leaking water at the plastic conections you might be able to tighten them down a little. Don't go crazy they are only plastic. There are orings in there and may need to be replaced
