How can I fix my glitchy Tron arcade machine?

I recently bought a Tron upright arcade machine and it works, sometimes. But other times it's glitchy, possibly due to grounding issues. I've described and pictured all the problems here: http://www.distantcreations.com/blog/2013/01/19/tron-arcade-machine-acquired-needs-a-little-help/ How can I fix them? Thanks!

It sounds like your vertical or horivontal sync is going out what i would do is take the old monitor out and i would buy a arcade rgb cga ega yup to vga hd video converter you can usually find them on ebay for 40 dollars or so then all you will need is a flat screen that will except a vga connection you tube can show you how to install these items into your game i have done several and you would be surprised how easy they are installed and if you get a used monitor you can save a lot of money also

SOURCE: I have a first gen

Hi,

The Sony PlayStation Portable has several great features that put it solidly at the cutting edge of gaming consoles. One of these is that Sony periodically releases system software updates and upgrades that introduce new features and enhanced performance. Once you create a network connection for your PSP, you can download updates directly to the console. Alternatively, you can download updates to your PC and transfer the data to your PSP.;

to download Updates Directly to Your PSP;

  1. Fully charge the battery on your PSP.
  2. Connect your AC adaptor to the PSP and then plug it into an outlet.
  3. Insert a Memory Stick Duo into the appropriate slot on your PSP.
  4. Select "Settings" from the Home menu.
  5. Select "Network Update" and then press the "X" button.
  6. Select your connection to connect to the network.
  7. Wait while the system checks whether data is available to download.
  8. Download the data.
  9. When the download is finished, press button "X" to install the update
Alternatively, can download the PSP update to your computer, then transfer the update into the PSP, then run the update;
  1. Connect your PSP to your PC with a USB cable.
  2. Create a folder on the Memory Stick called "PSP."
  3. Create a folder called "Game" withhttp://www.fixya.com/PostAnswer.aspx?thid=7441263&ctgid=180&ref=unslin the "PSP" folder.
  4. Create a folder called "Update" within the "Game" folder.
  5. Download the software update to the "Update" folder. The update must be saved with the file name "EBOOT.PBP".
  6. Fully charge the PSP battery then connect the AC adaptor to the PSP and plug it into an outlet.
  7. Select "Game" from the "Home" menu and then select the "Memory Stick" icon.
  8. Choose the "Update" option then press button "X" to update the system software.
Lastly, read the information on the below link as it might be helpful.

Good luck.

Randomly locking doors and sometimes continuous clicking leading to battery drainage.

If the locking seems continuous and almost glitchy I would buy new locks for both front doors. If it seems to be one timing lock and not acting glitchy then it most likely is a interference with a security alarm at that point I would disconnect the fuse for pwr locks as a quick fix.

Sometimes, a system just will NOT work like it used to due to corrosion and the aging of the system. If you use the network, some cyber-trolls may be the cause.

OK - the easiest thing to try first is to open the back and check ALL the wired / plugged connections on the PCB (printed circuit board) - 9 times out of 10 - it is usually corroded or loose connections. All these games are designed to plug into a standard 110V outlet US - unless you are over in Europe - then the machine would be set to 220v. If you are using an extension cord and it is very long, it IS possible that there is some power desegregation. If that is the case trying moving the cabinet to an outlet where you can directly plug it in. HTH

Does it feel hot to the touch? Is it dusty? Do you have it sitting where it can get air circulation around it? If it is getting air and isn't dusty the unit might be getting glitchy. They can do that before they go out sometimes. It may need to be replaced. However you may also have a problem with the connection itself on the other end (the provider's end). If you don't have a static ip address most ISP's will assign a different ip address if/when the modem is rebooted sometimes, but they can also keep the same ip address for a long time dispite rebooting. (when you unplug and start it again it is rebooting). You might want to check with your provider and see if they can change it to see if that helps. Sometimes it's their end that is glitchy...

GAME GEAR SCREEN PROBLEM! I Bought A 'Sega

Hi,
Common problems with the GG. I would suggest that you seek the services of someone experienced with soldering small electronic parts. The repair is straightforward, but if you have never soldered, or worked on curcuit boards, I would not attempt it.

I have repaired 3 before with good results. To save me from repeating a reply, please see my other post here:
