Question about Computers & Internet
I have an HP Compaq Presario home PC (Feb.2006) with the typical Sempron 3400+ 2GHZ processor and 1.28GB ram and the ASUS A8AE-LE (Amberine M-GL6E) motherboard. This problem exhibits as a ''slow response'' to UP SHIFTING (caps) and / or forward or backspacing when typing text in any mode wheather it be text in ''office'' or typical e-mails via net. I have tried 3 different keyboards (2--PS 2 & 1--USB) and ALL keyboards exhibit this same and ''very irritating'' problem. When shifting for upper case I (usually) have to hold the the shift key down for several seconds before it shifts to upper case. I find myself forever going back and having to ''re-type'' and/or change figures to the selected upper case modes. I have tried ( I think) ''everything''! The computer for the mostpart works ok otherwise--**except for (1) recurring ''file/path'' error which gets corrected with my registry cleaner, but returns ''every time'' at boot-up, but I don't think this is a related problem to my keyboard latency issue??? ANY help or leads would be more than greatly apprecited!!! PLEASE HELP !!!!
Three possible likely causes in this order:
1. driver needs to be reinstalled
2. sticky keys is on
after each step test the keyboard in notepad ( start, all programs, accessories, notepad.)
if it only happens in one program then it is the program causing it.
follow these step, from quickest to longest:
click start, control panel (if background is not white with a bunch of icons, click "switch to classic view" on the left, then click "accessibility option", under the "keyboard" tab make sure all boxes are unchecked".
start->right click my computer, select properties, click hardware tab, click device manager, expand "keyboards", then right click the name of your keyboard, select uninstall->click "ok" to the warning (it may tell you that you need to restart the computer to complete the uninstall) if so do it. When the computer loads up it may tell you to restart again, if so do it. If not thenwait until all loading is complete then test the keyboard.
These will kill system performance in general, however, it appears your complaint is solely about keyboard latency, so this most likely is not the case
