My vicks vaporizer is not blowing steam is it suppose to. rfinson30@yahoo.com

This vaporizer has two carbon electrodes covered by a 3in black cylinder with a couple of recessed phillips screws that take a narrow long shaft phillips screwdriver. Those two carbon electrodes are about 3/4 inches apart, and the water + a sprinkle of salt set up a resistive path between the electrodes that produces a boiling action on the water, thus steam. The electrolytes in the water, (calcium, iron, magnesium) eventually create a bridge between the electrodes, that allows the voltage to cross the electrodes without heating the water. You would have to take the cylinder off and scrape the built up electrolytes off of the carbon electrodes and reassemble the device, but you can buy another for about 15 bucks, but the same thing will happen again. If you try to use a little less or no salt on the next one it will last a lot longer.

Engine runs fine, pump works, but it's not kicking the burner on ?

The first thing I would check is spark on the electrodes in the burner, if you pull the transformer down from the bottom of the burner you will see two springs that touch metal poles in the bottom. You are going to have to have someone else run the machine in cold water mode (these machines will create spark in cold or hot water mode) and holding onto a long insulated screwdriver you are going to get about 1/4 inch away from each of the springs and see if a spark comes across the spring and the screw driver. Be very careful in doing this, you are playing with a lot of power. If no spark then this would indicate that you have a fuse blown or the transformer is bad. You would then proceed in checking power to the transformer. If you are getting spark then it is going to be one of the safety systems that is giving you a problem. Let me know what you find out.
