SOURCE: add electric start to dg7000 generator by Dewalt

This is really not an option. The engine would need a starter motor and battery and starting key switch. You will probably have to replace the unit with an electric start option.

SOURCE: i have a dewalt dg2900

Does your motor run at the same RPMs that it did before? It sounds like your motor is running to slow to produce the 120V ac.

But it could also be that you have one or more diodes blown.

Since the generator is selling for $1,100.00 on several sites, make sure that you don't spend more for repair parts/labor than what you can replace it for.

Anything can be repaired, but some aren't economically repairable. So if you have to pay someone to work on your generator, it might be better to replace han repair.

Have a 1200e true life gen.only putting out half the voltage.

I've repaired a few modern generators and have not seen a diode go bad yet, its usually a capacitor or wires rubbed through (broken off from vibration)...also if there is two circuit boards, either one could be bad or just a wire to them

Why do i only have 94 volt output on dewalt generator 2900 watt

It should change with the load, the more load you put on the line the magnetic field increases with the amperage and the gen will produce more output until its rating is reached. This happens especially if it has been sitting a long time.

If it currently has a ballast, dismantle it and rewire so that a full 120 volts goes to the bulb holder and then put in the led bulb of your choice.

Hi there. My Maytag MSE 760 FARS dishwasher is not filling, but the heating element is working. I suspect the pump has failed. What do I do?

what you can check,

  1. the float in the tub.their may be something caught under it
  2. the water valve, use a meter set to check ac voltage and check for 120 volts ac at the plug to it,if has 120 when supposed to fill valve is bad so long at it has water supply to it
  3. the float switch, use meter set to lowest ohms setting and remove the 2 wires on float switch and check for continunity(zero ohms) if meter reads OL replace float switch
  4. the control, check for 120 volts ac to float switch when supposed to fill, if 120 at fill portion yet no fill ,replace control
  5. water supply,if uses flex tube something in cabinet under sink may have pinched water line
Good luck,i hope this helps

My transformer is burned. Now I need to know what the secundairy voltages are

Transformers USUALLY don't get burned as they are usually protected by a fuse. This one supposedly uses a 3 amp fuse which should have protected it from getting burned. If you can find a schematic or if you can find the specs on the output amp power supplies we can probably calculate the voltage of secondary. We know only that it is supposedly 120 Watts and uses an 8 ohm speaker. The RMS voltage should be about square-root 120*8 = sqrt 960 = 31V*1.4 = approx 44 volts peak... so you will need to get about +/-45 volts out of the supply for headroom... which will need approximately 34 volts AC given diode drop and droop of filter caps. These are really rough educated calculations from the tiny bit of info we have.
Finding a transformer to replace this matching these requirements will be near impossible without getting device from the original manufacturer OR having your rewound.
I would first verify the transformer is bad (only plausible cause is somebody over-fused it or a winding shorted)... Remove all the secondary loads. Put a 3 amp fuse in AND put a 60 Watt light bulb in series with teh power cord to act as a limiting device to test the transformer... Note that transformers DO have a bit of odor as they are usually impregnated with a varnish...

My generator is not putting out the proper voltage? it's only putting out approx 75 volts on the 120 volt circit. i adjust the idle to full out and i get approx 112v.

Most low voltage conditions on generators are simply due to a low engine rpm. Most modern generators are 2- pole windings. So your engine rpm should theoretically run @ 3600 rpm. which will produce 120/240 volts @ 60 HZ. In actuality You want to set your rpm's @ Approx. 3720rpm no load. About 62.5 Hz. Without getting to technical this will give you your desired 120/240 volts loaded. Hope this helps.
