I just restored my dell computer to factory settings. How do I now reset up to internet. I use verizon as my provider

Wireless Internet connection

Power on the laptop computer and wait for the operating system to boot. Right-click the wireless Internet icon in the lower right corner of the desktop. This brings up a new pull-down menu. Select "View Available Wireless Networks." This brings up a selection of different possible Internet connections that are in range of the computer. Select the wireless Internet connection you want to use. If a password is required, you need to type it in now. Wait for the laptop to connect to the Internet. In a moment the computer is going to state it has successfully connected to the Internet. click Start, Run type in cmd and click Ok to bring up a command prompt. Type ipconfig /all and press enter and see if it gives you an IP address similar to 192.168.1.100. Check your wireless connection properties under My Network Places. Right click the wireless connection icon and choose properties. From there make sure Internet Protocol {TCP/IP} is listed, highlight it and click properties. Make sure Obtain an IP address automatically is checked and Obtain DNS server address automatically is checked. Make sure you Ethernet is enabled in bios restart your computer during the boot up process you will see on your screen a certain key to press to enter set up (BIOS) press and hold that key to enter bios using arrow keys scroll to intergrated peripherals look for SiS On Chip Pci Device press enter scroll to SiS 10/100m press enter make sure its enabled if still no joy Let's first try to start the wireless service i.e. WLAN AutoConfig service manually. To do this, login to the computer as an administrator.

1. Click Start, type services.msc and hit enter.

2. Locate WLAN AutoConfig service, double click on it to open its properties window.

3. Under General tab, change the Startup type to Automatic and click Start button.

    I do not have the wireless internet icon on the desktop or lower right hand corner. Where would you start without icon?

    so this is a desktop computer If you are the owner of the wireless network, secure your wireless network with a password. To do so, navigate to the "Start" menu and select the "Control Panel." Then select "Network and Internet" and "Network and Sharing Center." Click "Change adapter settings" in the left pane. Double-click the icon of the appropriate wireless connection. The Wireless Network Connection status window appears. Click the "Wireless Properties" button. Select the "Security" tab and select an encryption type from the drop-down selection. Enter a password in the Network security key field. Make sure that the password matches the router settings. Press "OK" when done.

Best bet is to do a system restore to a date before you have problems. Go into start>accessories>system tools>system restore. Your computer automatically creates restore points each time you log on..so once you are in system restore just pick a date that was before you had problems and your system will restore itself to that date...if you have any questions let me know..there are other options if that does not work so keep me updated..

If the system has the original Dell image, then just after the Dell Bios splash screen should be a black screen with w blue bar at the top with www.dell.com at the top.

At that screen press CTRL + F11 to initiate the PC Restore program.

Here are the main steps to restore your Dell laptop to its factory settings. Depending on the model you own, the procedure may vary slightly.

Before beginning, please note that by restoring your computer to its default factory configuration, all data on the C drive will be deleted. We highly recommend backing up any personal files before moving forward with the reset.
Hard Reset Dell Laptop Restart your computer by clicking Start > arrow next to the Lock button > Restart.

As the computer restarts, press the F8 key until the Advanced Boot Options menu appears on the screen.

Note: You must press F8 before the Windows logo appears on the screen. If you press F8 after the Windows logo appears, the Advanced Boot Options menu will not appear on the screen. There is no reset button. If your notebook is frozen and will not turn off, hold the power button down for 5 seconds.

Dell system includes a restore utility called 'Dell Symantec System Restore' to reset or restore your Dell system to factory setting. This utility is convenient because you're not forced to use the Windows startup CD to restore your computer.

Step 1: First backup all your important data and restart your computer.
Step 2: Press 'F8' if you are using Win7/Vista or 'Ctrl + F11' if you has Win Xp. 'Advanced Boot Option' menu options will be opened.
Step 3: Choose 'Repair your computer' from the 'Advanced Boot Options' from the menu and press 'Enter'.
Step 4: Select language setting and press 'Enter'. Now Login window will be appeared.
Step 5: Now login as administrator to continue the factory reset process.
Step 6: Click 'Dell Factory Image Restore' followed by the 'Next' button.
Step 7: Choose the check box marked 'Yes, reformat disk drive and recover system software to manufacturer condition'. Once the check box is chosen, simply select the 'Next' button and your Dell computer/laptop is renewed to factory setting.
Step 8: Press 'Finish' once it has been done. ...

This process will erase all your previous changes that have been made to the Dell computer and reset the configuration settings to factory setting.

Hi,

In order to reset your computer to Factory default settings without the disc, you can follow the instructions below.

1. Turn on your computer. Once you see the DeLL Logo Press and Hold the CTRL button then while holding CTRL button, press F11
2. You should see the Dell PC Restore by Symantec application.
3. You can click Restore and Confirm the restoration.
4. It will take 10-15 minutes. Once your computer rebooted, it should already be in the default settings

You will lose all your data if you wanna set it to factory setting ,have its back up before you loose it.

Here is how to restore at Factory Setting..
1: Restart the computer, click Start, click the arrow next to the Lock button, and then click Restart. 2: As restarts, press the F8 key until the 'Advanced Boot Options' ,menu appears on the screen.It should come up before Window logo appears. 3. Press the (Down Arrow) to select Repair Your Computer on the Advanced Boot Options menu, and then press Enter. 4. Specify the language settings that you want, and then click Next. 5. How do i restore my dell latitude c600 to its factory settings


The Dell Latitude C600 is an older Dell laptop computer. This particular model came with Windows XP pre-installed on it. If you are experiencing problems with your computer, or you want a fresh start with your Dell, you can restore the laptop to factory settings. This process removes all of the data saved on your computer and resets all of the settings back to the way they were when you first purchased the computer.

Instructions:

Step 1
Turn off your computer if it is currently on.
Step 2
Turn on your computer. When the Dell splash screen appears, hold down "CTRL" and "F11" on your keyboard. Release both keys at the same time.
Step 3
Click "Restore" in the "Dell PC Restore by Symantec" window. Click "Confirm" when you are warned that all data will be lost.
