Thanks for responding. There are 2 blowers and on each one side blows out and the other in. When I turn it on I hear a flap open or close above in the duct work so I am assuming the flap is closing when its turned on. I will remove the 2 blowers and see. Thanks

Its 1 year old and we just started cooking. It sounds like after both the posts that the flap in the duct work is installed backwards. I will let you a little later. Thanks

It has an impeller inside. During assembly it might be installed upside down. But before doing any changes check everything with a small napkin. Put screen back turn hood on and place the napkin and see if it doing to the unit or from it. If unit works backward you need to replace the impeller and put it upside down.
Good Luck

The blower (motor)has been installed backwards it is impossible for that motor to run backwards sounds like it was manufactured or installed wrong. How old? Has it ever worked right?

Is something restricting the airflow? Does it vent outside check for air restrictions.

  • shockman1157 Jan 29, 2009

Both blowers should blow the same dirrection unless there is a recirculating feature on it.

No current coming on stove

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that you are not receiving any power to the stovetop on your Frigidaire range, model# FED300AS. I suggest resetting your appliance, by shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Restore power and turn on the stovetop controls. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your air conditioner status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

In winter, cold air blows back down and out through the fan.

Hi,
Either a backdraft damper was never installed in the ductwork or the damper is stuck open...
Has it always been this way?? If so then the damper probably was never installed and you will need to have one installed to stop the air...
If it was good at the beginning and now is not then the damper is stuck open...you will need to find it and then get it working agian...
The dampers often are right at the outlet of the hood...if you take down the hood it should be right there...

I have a galaxy gas range says it is set up for gas or propane how do i switch it and is it expensive

The cost of the parts is low. Many ranges have the conversion kit attached to the back of the unit. (If installed, pull the range away from the wall and then check the back. Another likely spot is behind the storage drawer.) If the parts aren't provided, then check your manual for information on ordering the conversion kit. (At least one range I've researched had a price under $20 for the conversion kit.)

The biggest cost is to get a licensed installer to do the conversion. This is required to maintain the warranty. It is also required by law in some states. Talk to your gas company (most appliance shops do not have staff that handle propane conversions).

The instructions are included with the conversion kit. It's fairly simple and takes a screwdriver, wrench and ratchet with correct sized socket (mine took a 10mm). A nutdriver can be helpful. Check your instructions for any other tools you need. With the stove unplugged and disconnected from the gas supply, turn over the LP/NG part in the regulator (do not remove the entire regulator). Adjust the air flow damper. Remove the current orifices for both the range and the stovetop. For best results do these one at a time (the orifices are labeled and are for specific locations). In the oven, you need to remove a few covers to reach the various dampers and orifices.

Then connect the stove back to the incoming gas line and power supply (use a new flexible gas line for the connection to the regulator). Check for leaks. Then you may need to adjust the flame for each of the inlets. The stovetop burners usually have a set screw behind the knob so turn on the flame and then remove the knob. The set screw takes a very small screwdriver.

I hope this helps.

(please note I did this from memory after reading the directions on the new stove we had delivered about 2 months ago. That was an LG stove so some differences in the instructions are inevitable.)

My ionic breeze doesnt seem to blow any air at all cleaning light stays off Is this normal?

best best is to unplug the unit, and clean the blades completely with a damp cloth, then wait a few for the blades to dry and put them back in the unit. usually cleaning these every 2 to 3 weeks and they should be kept clean to be effective at removing the contaminants in the air. theirs alot of controversy over thease untis thease day's butthey do fuction properly if kept in top condition. also note that the blades must be properly seated in the houseing to work. safty feature that if bumped or knocked down it will cause the system to mostlikly stop working till you pull the blades out and put them back inj. i observed this myself with a model and they are failry good quality but a pain to clean. good luck with it.

GE gas stove top igniters won t stop clicking

I got this problem yesterday. My 6-month old GE range/stove top was being cleaned by a cleaning lady and suddenly, the igniters started clicking nonstop. I had to shut down the circuit breakers. I googled the problem, and it seemed clear that the "spark switches" got moisture on them. The best site which described this is: http://www.appliance411.com/archive/25012_ge_gas_cooktop_not_working_.shtml

Some people said you could dry them with a blow dryer, and others said you need to replace these switches (which is not too expensive, but takes some time/skill). I was hoping against this, so I tried something along those lines: I removed all the parts of the stovetop - the grill, the "cap", the metal funky piece, etc. until there was nothing but the surface of the stove and holes going down to the igniter area. Then, I took an electric fan and kept it pointed at the stovetop all night long. After about 10 hours, I turned the circuit breaker back on. No more clicking! And the burners all work! So, I think I essentially did the "hair dryer" solution, but did it more longterm without having to watch the clock to see if I did it long enough. Anyway, I don't normally post these things, but this discovery really helped me and I hope it helps someone else!

42" Allure II Broan Range Hood I put a new bulb to replace

Get two new bulbs and install them. These bulbs are exposed to a lot of heat above the stove and the filaments get brittle. I suspect that the filament on the bulb that still worked broke when you were screwing it out or back in. good luck. please rate my answer. thanks noreen.

Control Lock light is on and nothing works on my stovetop

Hi. Research your stovetop on the kitchenaid website. You should be able to download a user manual for your model. The manual should tell you how to reset the lock. If a manual is not available, try disconnecting the power supply to the stove. This might clear the memory of the stove. Good luck. ricardok45
