Check in another system. If the problem persists, change the mouse. Choose Logitech

SOURCE: My mouse pad has stopped working on my laptop

does the trackpad work, if so it may be a loose ribbon cable, or your buttons just died, take it to a repair shop, they would be able to find the problem faster, but try uninstalling the driver for the trackpad and reinstalling the drive and see if that fixes it

Sounds like a Ebay sold mouse with non matching receiver to mouse.
Best laptop wireless mouse to buy in my opinion is Logitech VX Nano from Staples or some store like it.Work wonderful and battery life excellent. Windows Xp,Vista,Windows7 install the driver auto for you. Don't need the cd at all

SOURCE: laptop doesnt connect to wireless internet (wireless card is fine

When you reformatted your HD, did you use IBM's method which utilizes a hidden partition? This results in a laptop which appears to be as if it just came from the store, like a brand new laptop.
This method sets up the computer in the exact way that IBM built it. And puts all devices in their proper configurations.
If you have not done too much yet, you might want to try that method right away and see if it doesn't make a big difference in the way your laptop works.

My brother and I have the AWE01us1 chill hub. Initially it worked fine. We have a wireless microsoft mouse and USB adapter is connected to 1 of the 4 USB ports. Occasionally the mouse stops working...

When I typed AWE01us1 chill hub in my search engine I came up with Targus as the manufacturer of the chill hup not the laptop. Before buying products I would read customer rates and comments on the products. My public library has a free link to consumer reports, or Amazon.com has product ratings.

I'm also getting mixed info regarding the mouse, is the mouse wireless, stopped working, and you somehow overrode the wireless with a USB cable and that stopped working. I'm assuming the mouse worked fine before the installation of the chill hub. If you read the reviews on Amazon, I'm seeing other types of USB problems. Try returning the chill hub and purchasing another brand. You may have to call customer support for the laptop. Let me know if this was helpful.
