Question about Kodak EASYSHARE 5100 All-In-One Printer

Kodak 5100 all in one printer, 3802 code

It started throwing this code and some times I can print a picture and the next one throws the code and tells me to unplug the printer power source for 5 minutes and try again. that does not work and I am about ready to throw it out the window. any help would be appreciated.

You need to contact kodak and ask for a replacement print head, explain the code and whats been happening.

They will probably tell you to download new drivers and wash your printhead ect ect but nothing that helps.

I had the same problem with the same printer.

I couldn't get Kodak to send out a printhead, so after weeks of messing around, I took it back for a refund.

If you do manage to get a new printhead here are the instructions on how to remove and replace it.

Getting a print error 3802, just installed printer today. As soon as we changed quality to best, got error code.


Hi. Error means your printer failed to communicate with the printhead. If issue is not resolved by turning the printer off/on then you need to buy a new printhead. Here's a link on how to install a new printhead.

DID you remove the small tape sealed on bottom of cartridge?

also check for dried old ink sploch in cartridge cradle bottom

right click printer use the printer utilities to clean print cartridges and align the cartridges nost printers have utilies or tools to assist

My Kodak Easy Share 5300 Printhead needs to be replaced. Where can I get one?


Call Kodak tech support at 1-800-421-6699. Tell them that you are missing colors and have already tried cleaning and reseating the printhead (which I recommend you try first). Normally they will send you out a new one for free.

Kodak ESP5 Error Code 3802 and will not print yellow even with cleaning and new ink.


Issue is with printhead

Select all-in-one printer

Select image quality > missing color > follow the steps to order a free printhead

Gives only code 3802


To resolve the error condition:
  1. Open the printer access door.
  2. Remove and install the printhead two times. If you need help in reseating the printhead, go to the link http://faqs.kodak.com/atg/faq/attachments/AUR1780-2.pdf
  3. Close the printer access door.
  4. Wait until the printer is ready to use.
If the problem still persists, you can get a free printhead replacement from Kodak.

3802 Mean Printhead Failuer

All You need to do is turn the printer Off and On

And if the problem still there

Remove the ink cartridges and the printhead

And if the problem still there
Do it that again for (5x)

And if the problem still there

Tell this to kodak support

And tell the troubleshooting steps you did.
