SOURCE: tangled bobbin thread

Okay. I had this problem too. try taking the bobbin casing out. I had a bit of thread lintg caught in a remote area of the under-plate area. Blow it out with canned air and oil your machine. That should help. It fixed mine.

SOURCE: keeps "birdnesting", besides rethreading, how do I fix?

when you have bunching on the bottom, you have a problem with the top thread: no tension. (and visa versa) Make sure the thread runs through the tension discs, these discs are activated when you put the presser foot down, so you want to thread the machine with the foot up, also feel if there no burrs, hooks, or whatever, so your top thread comes smooth off the spool, no jerking.

SOURCE: I have a touch & sew model 755. it is a backup

I think that you may have the wrong size bobbin in it or you need a new bobbin case. If, you go online to www.sewingpartsonline.com you can see a new case, also a repair kit for the bobbin. They also sell bobbins for this machine. In my search for this info, I found a site that had a free copy of your manual, www.scribd.com. It looks like you have got yourself one little beauty. Hope it works good for you but if not I am sure that you would lots of takers for it. Good luck and Happy New Year.

SOURCE: My bobbin thread keeps coming to the top of my

With the embroidering, some of the bobbin thread is SUPPOSED to show on the top of your embroidery-the machine isn't doing anything incorrectly. You'll need to thread your bobbin with the same thread as you are using with the top. I had the same "problem" when I first got the machine and took it to a wonderful local technician whose helped me with a lot of things who informed me that this is perfectly normal on embroidery machines.

Why is the fabric bunching into the bobbin when embroidering with the Singer Futura

bobbin thread is too high pressure or too low pressure on teh top adjustment!

remove bobbin and turn tension screw about 1/8turn left (anticlockwise) check if still grabbing, if so - top thread turn about 1/4 turn (at embroidery ir should do automatically, but sometimes need kick...).

check if it is still grabbing on the bottom, do it grab during straight? zigzag? double zigzag? if do not - setting on the pattern need to be look at. if it tangle as well on these three - need definitely servicing...

follow manual how to adjust.

How do you thread the XL400

Take a look at page 6 of your user's manual. First, is important that your bobbin be unwinding in the correct direction (a picture is right on the machine as well).

On all machines, the thread needs to be "caught" in the area on the bobbin case at the bottom, so that it can exert tension on the bobbin thread. The slot on your needle plate is most helpful in lining the thread up, but personally, I don't then put it in the thread cutter--I find that the thread is too short when I do that. I simply put it through the slot and lay it above that, and then bring the needle down to draw the thread up above the needle plate.

A PDF version of your manual is in the \Manual directory where in installed it on your hard drive, and you can also download one free at the Singer Futura support site.

Singer futura XL400 thread breaking

Unthread the machine and start from scratch. After rethreading make sure your spool of thread has free play at the reel (not caught on anything) then check the thread tension make sure it's not too tight. Also check the bobbin is in place correctly and the bobbin has been wound correctly not too tight. If it is still happening it may be an adjustment to be done by a tech? Also try different threat, faulty thread can do that as well.

Am having continual trouble with "birdnesting" after having removed bobbin case to clean. Have checked and adjusted (and readjusted and rechecked and.... you get the picture) the tension, but no help...

Hi! Birdnesting is such a frustrating problem! In my experience, though, it's not related to tension (especially if your tension was ok before you took the bobbin case out to clean it).

I'd really check the bobbin case again for any bit of lint or thread--all it takes is just a tiny piece. Also clean out the feed dogs and under them--that entire area. Then rethread everything--change needles too--and pay attention to threading the bobbin. Make sure it's 'by the book'.

When you start to sew, hold the two tails (top and bobbin) fairly snugly in your left hand, behind the needle, while you take the first few stitches.

Let me know if this helps, ok? If it doesn't, there are a few other things we can try before calling the repairman.

Happy Sewing!

Just bought s Singer 1725. Tried a straight stitch. The thread keeps bunching up under the fabric and around the bobbin shuttle. How can this be corrected?

"Birdnesting" occurs when there is no tension on the needle thread to pull the bobbin thread. This is easily corrected by rethreading the machine, following the threading path carefully and making sure the thread is fully engaged in the tension mechanism.

I have a singer-inspiration machine and it appears that the thread keeps getting caught up in the bobbin area so my thread birdnests. I am new to sewing and this is a new machine.
