Software CD's I purchased a SVP HDDV2600 on EBay. It was new in the box, sealed and came with 2 disks. I installed the disks but the computer will not recognize the camera. How can I get the camera and the computer to interface? I tried loading it on another computer with the same results

install virtual box, a free virtual computer from oracle. It reserves disk space and runs a separate operating system, in a window on your desktop. Install virtual box, install windowsXP, install your software.

A few simple steps:

0. find your original Dell "System Restore" set of CD/DVD disks, or order a replacement set from Dell, or run software on your computer to burn a set of "System Restore" disks.
1. do an "inventory" of installed programs (Adobe? MS Office?) and extract any "license-keys" you need (anti-virus software, purchased software).
2. backup your E-mail and contacts and music and other files, either to an external disk-drive, or burn some CD/DVD disks, or copy across your local network to another computer.
3. turn the computer off
4. disconnect the AC power
5. remove the battery
6. remove the old disk-drive
7. determine if it was an EIDE ("parallel-ATA") drive, or a SATA drive, and buy a new drive of the same type
8. mount the new disk-drive
9. reinsert the battery
10. reconnect the AC adapter
11. take your "System Restore" disks, and "boot" from the first disk, and reinstall Windows and the Dell applications
12. run Windows Update repeatedly (Service Pack 3, post SP3 fixes, Internet Explorer 8) to get all the fixes, and the fixes-to-the-fixes
13. install anti-virus software
14. install other purchased software, using license-keys you preserved
15. download the latest versions of "free" software (iTunes, Adobe Reader, WinAmp, et cetera)
16. import your "data" files

OR.................

if both the "old" and "new" disk-drives are SATA, and you have a desktop computer with two "unused" SATA ports, you can use software, such as the commercially-sold "Partition Magic", to "clone" the old disk-drive, and to "expand" the volume to span all the "unused/unallocated" space on the new drive, e.g., copy 20GB from "old" to "new", and then "expand" the 20GB partition to the full size of the "new" disk-drive. Install the new drive into your notebook computer, and enjoy the additional "free" space.

This driver is not available for download anywhere. -And, I do mean anywhere because this specific driver cannot be downloaded from the internet. It must be downloaded to your computer from an original Philips J44414 CD that came with the camera.

I do have two suggestions however. (Don't shoot me...)

1) Purchase a new web cam.

2) If you are still determined to use this Web Cam the only other alternative is to purchase a used one with a CD (like on eBay - if you can even find one) then, download the driver from the CD to your computer. - If you prefer you could then sell one of the web cams back on eBay. (I said, don't shoot me.....)

I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help -

1. Check the disk on another computer and see if you get response from the disk.
a. if you do then this may be your cd rom or DVD read/writer is not working properly.
b. If not, then the cd make be a corrupted copy.
2. Call the manufacturer and ask for a new copy since you have just purchased the printer. They should be happy to send you a new copy of the installing software.
3. Take the unit and all it's compnents back to the place of purchase and inform them of the issue and request a new printer with a new copy of the installing cd and get assurance from the store manager that if it doesn't work can you bring the unit back and get a refund.

20gb memory of???computer???or the hdd...???alll computer could upgrade but it depends on the specs of your pc...

1. Install the camera driver, which can be found from the CD.

2. Turn on the Camera, and change it to "Playback" mode.

3. Connect the camera to the computer using USB port.

4. The LCD display of the camera will turn off automatically, and the computer should say that new hardware is detected.

5. Go to "My Computer", and you should find a new drive saying "Removable disk".

Double click it and you should find your pictures and videos inside the folder. Just copy them to your computer's hard disk.

Your new computer came installed with a free trial. If it is asking for a product key, then the trial is over. I suggest going to eBay and purchasing the software as to purchasing full price. You can get a better dela from there.

Once you get the software in the mail, you can uninstall the trial version that is on you computer and install the new one. It will ask you for the product key, which is located on the Office box that the software come in.

How new is the computer? If you just barely got the PC, then you can run the free trial untill it ends. I think they give you 90 days.
