I turned the camera to the camera position and it starts to come on and the lens acts like it is going to come out, then doesn't and the camera shuts off. I have tried a fresh set of batteries, energizer and duracell CR-V3 they both have the same problem. I have had this camera for a couple years and this is the first time it has given me any issues.

Doubt it. Kodaks are notorious for the lens becoming knocked out of line when dropped. I had an older model that a child knock off a 3 foot high table and it never worked again. Best thing is to find a local repair shop, call in to Kodak for assistance, or look for another camera.
I too had the same problem. We were told we were using the wrong bateries, so we made sure that we used the correct ones, and it happened again and now the warranty is out and I can't send it to be fixed. If anyone has any idea what the problem is, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
