Question about Dyson DC07 All Floors Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

Open Question

I have a dyson DC07. The hose has come away from the hose end and the end is stuck in the top end of the wand as it sits in the upright position on the machine. Any ideas as how to get it out? If I can get it out it might just be a new hose. If not, it's a new hose and wand.t

SOURCE: Dyson DC07, too much suction...?

have you checked that the roller is turning when the vacum is not in the upright position as ther are 2 belts 1 from the motor to the clutch and 1 from the clutch to the roller if the clutch belt breaks you will find it hard to push because the roller is stopprd.... lie the machine down on its side with the vacume in the open position not upright and check if the roller turns it should only stop when in the upright position. PLEASE MIND YOUR FINGERS.

SOURCE: Dyson Dc07

I had the same issue and solved it easily. My experience is the same as the March 6th response/ When you push your foot onto the base and then recline the handle, use your toe to gently push the very front of the base down closer to the carpet. This creates a much stronger seal and suction and picks up every bit of dirt easily. If i do not do this extra step the suction is much much less. I tried an experiment with sand that I poured onto my carpet. Initially, I went over the sand 4 times and the dyson 07 would only pick up 50 percent of the sand. I then poured more sand onto the carpet, and this time pushed the front lip down so it was contacting the carpet. This time only two passes were needed to completely **** up all the sand. Not sure why this is not in the manual but it really works. Good Luck!

SOURCE: My Dyson DC07 will not stand upright. It just lays

- Stand behind the vacuum cleaner and look at the right-hand side wheel
- Remove the AI PIPE (it has two purple buttons that you push together to lift it up and out - it looks like a Tuba)
- Lay the handle down and look for a black button that will be exposed in front of the square hole
- Stick your index finger and middle finger into the vacant AI Pipe Hole (the square hole)
- Reach over with your thumb and press the black button in front of the square hole
- Whilst pushing the black button, lift your index finger and your middle finger and move the gray plastic piece up (lift the square hole basically)
- Remove your fingers from the square hole
- Lift the handle and stand your machine back upright again
- Place the AI Pipe back into the square hole

SOURCE: No suction on wand of Dyson DC14 Animal

Hi its Darran at Dyson.

It sounds as though the wand handle is blocked. To check this, remove the wand/hose from the machine as if you were going to use it to vacuum the stairs. Switch the machine on and test the suction at the top of the wand handle with your hand. If the suction from the wand is poor, remove the wand from the hose and test the suction again from the top of the hose. If the suction here is good, then you know the wand handle is blocked. If the suction is poor at the hose, you can remove the hose from the machine and clear any blockages here.

For the full blockage procedure please visit the support section on our website at www.dyson.com.

Kind regards

SOURCE: Dyson DC07 bagless - upright mode v poor suction, wand mode ok

Hi its Darran at Dyson.

From your description of the problem, it sounds as though the bleed valve is activating which only happens when there is a blockage.

We would recommend following the full blockage through as outlined in your user guide or in the Support section on our website at www.dyson.com.

Kind regards

Dyson vacuum wand doesn't work

The manual for the DC07 can be found here (
500 Error Dyson ) (The PDF tag is saying 'Error Dyson', but it still seems to work in getting to the document)
The most likely issue, under-documented for most Dyson uprights, is that the wand suction will *only* engage when the main handle is in the full upright position. In that position, the brush motor will also always stop spinning. I found this out after much wondering when I bought a DC07 at a flea market. Got a great deal when I plugged it in there and couldn't get the brush to spin, and the storage locker clear-out guy just wanted to get rid of it. That said, it's a common point of dodgy documentation for the upright Dysons, IMO.

It could also be line blockage. Remove and check the U-Bend piece, remove the hose line (un-clip at the bottom and pull off), stretch it, and see if there are obstructions. My fave way to deal with blocks in there is to use a pair of pliers to bend a small, blunt U-hook in a wire coat hanger that's been bent into 'marshmallow-roaster' long-skinny shape, then go in carefully from the ends and see if you can hook stuff and pull it out. Some crumpled paper can be amazingly effective at tenaciously holding to the walls. Be careful to look through the stretched hose wall when doing this to make sure you don't hook the hose wall and tear it.

Good Luck!

Place wand in upright position.
Press release catch and slide wand to end of hose.
Slide wand cap back and place wanted tool on handle.
This information can be found on page 10 of the manual.

When the dyson is turned on the suction goes to the wand when you tip the beater down you do not have as much suction you cant pick up lint.

The Dyson system is designed to operate the hose with the handle in the upright position. When the head is tipped down (floor vacuum position) it closes the opening to the hose/wand

How do I attach a mini turbine head to my dyson dc07 upright?

Remove the handle / hose / wand assembly like you were going to use the tools. The mini turbo brush will attach to the open end of the wand.

Dyson DC07 Vacuum Cleaner

Hello,

It sounds like to me that you probably have a clog in the hose port, or that your attachment hose may have a hole in it. Both of these problems are common problems on the Dyson DC07 model.

The first place you should check is the clog part that's directly underneath of the hose. Pull this port out and see if you can see anything lodged inside the clog port:

8b33cd4.jpg
If you aren't able to find the clog here, then pull the wand and hose out of the vacuum. With the vacuum cleaner off, pull the hose out as far as it goes, and inspect the entire hose assembly from the end that the wand connects into, until the end that fits into the vacuum itself. A lot of times this hose will tear due to the sharp end of the wand as the hose is being pushed back up the wand.

If neither of these solutions worked, please just use the clarification request form here on the Fixya repair page, and I'd be happy to do some more advanced diagnosing with you to figure this out.

If this was helpful to you, please help other Fixya users find this answer by rating the repair helpful, by clicking the thumbs up icons in the top right hand corner of the repair.

I just bought a used Dyson DC07. Works good but

Hi its Darran at Dyson.

From your description of the problem, it sounds as though the wand/hose is blocked. To test this, please remove the wand from the machine and switch on, testing the suction from the top of the wand handle. If the suction is poor, remove the wand from the hose and test the suction from the top of the hose. If its strong from the hose itself, the wand is blocked and you will need to clear this.

If there is poor suction from the hose, you can remove this by unclipping it from the base of the machine and can then remove any blockages. It is also worth checking the hose for any splits or holes.

If you need any further help or advice, please visit our website at www.dyson.com and check out our support section.

I can't figure out how to hook up hose attachment to dyson 07

You have a reversible wand on the DC07. You have to separate the wand from the hose first, then turn it around and reconnect it. Once that is done you will be able to use the attachments on the end of the wand. You can also connect your attachments to the hose.
To separate the wand:
1) Take the wand off the back of the machine
2) Place one hand on the Handle and one hand on the gray flexible hose.
3) Push the flexible hose down. You will see a long metal rod appearing. Push until the hose clicks into place at the bottom of the metal rod.
4) You'll see a half-moon shape button with a picture of a lock on the solid gray plastic part at the top of the hose - push it, this will separate the wand from the hose.
5) Turn the wand around
6) Push the purple wand cap with the holes in it back, it exposes a short dark gray pipe, about an inch in length
7) Connect the hose to the short pipe
8) Attach your tools to the top of the metal rod and have fun

Dyson hose looses suction

You have a blockage in the wand. Stand behind the machine and:
1) Remove the u-bend which is located NEXT to the right-hand side wheel, NOT above it. It connects from the bottom of the long gray hose to next to the right-hand side wheel. It is attached to the machine with a rectangular-shaped clip - push the clip and pull the pipe down.
2) Look through the wand if you can (DC07 wand is bent) - if you can't see the ground you have a blockage in either the hose or the wand
3) Remove the hose and separate it from the wand - hold the wand up into the air and look through it - if you can't see light coming through the other end, there is a blockage in the wand. Use a long object like a stick or a metal hanger to remove the blockage.
4) If the wand is clear, stretch the hose out and look for dark spots - those are the blockages. Again use a long object to remove the blockage - be careful not to damage the hose, you don't want to buy a new one.

Dyson Animal Hose collapses

The blockage is in the wand itself - take it off the back of the machine and separate it from the gray hose. Hold the wand into the air and look through it. If you don't see the light coming through the other end, there is a blockage in the wand. Remove it with a long object like a metal hanger. The DC07 wand is slightly bent at the top - you should still see some light coming through the top though. Be sure to look through the metal rod end of the wand, otherwise you probably won't see anything anyway.

Too much suction

Hi.

I have repaired Dyson machines for years & have never come accross this.
The only way you will have trouble extending the hose is if there is a blockage at the bend where you hold the wand could be a coin which when switched on flips accross & blocks oppening.

Is it easy to slide wand from flexi hose with machine switched off ?

If yes you probably have grit stuck under the collar that you push the button to unlock flexi hose from pipe.

I will be logged in most of the time tonight if you need more help.
