The paper you're using IS very thin. However, the printer should take it as you've already run 50 pieces through (assuming successfully). Sounds like the pressure roller in the machine has lost some of its grip; it can accumulate dust and fiber from the paper over time.

Two things I'd try ..... with the machine unplugged, remove the paper from the feeder. Look down into the openning; you'll see a larger white/gray plastic housing on the right side which covers a rubber roller. Take a small lint free cloth (like an old cotton T-shirt piece) and dampen it with some isopropyl alcohol. Rub the rag on the roller. Let it dry a minute of so, and try to feed paper through the printer again. You could also try to very lightly apply some alcohol on the bottom edge of a piece of statndard paper and feed it in. As long as you only put a small amout of alcohol on it should be OK .... don't saturate it. A two inch strip would be fine. This will help coat the roler and then dry it out as it feeds through the printer.

Good luck.

Doesn't print on cardstock

Inkjet should always prints no matter what type of printing material you use since they only spray inks (laser will be different). Even if it is not compatible you will still see inks / smudge all over the surface. Try check your actual colour againts the paper it might be too similar hence not visible.

Paper size mismatch for A9 envelope (5.75x8.75)

Set the envelope size in the printer properties paper size list to A5 (5.83 x 8.27) which is only .08 inches wider than the short side of an A9 envelope (5.75 inches). The paper size sensor on the HP6520 printer must not be sensitive enough to tell the difference. I can print A9 envelopes just fine using the A5 setting.

Why won't my printer print on vellum paper? Im trying to make baby shower invites and the paper just comes right out.

Im guessing ...

I had a similar experience with a different brand ...

Your printer thinks it grabbed two sheets of paper.

Open your priter program (in the control panel) and see if there is a setting for Vellum

I hope this works for you

Printer won't accept Card Stock

Nothing to adjust feed mechanics. If it's temporaly print, you must feeed paper 1 by 1, and when printer grab paper, push paper by hand. If it's routine print, you can adjust the pick up rubber at paper feedr mechanic. Add double tape ( 1 mm, soft) below top rubber. I have done it, and printer can grab/feed paper up to 350 grams.

Epson Stylus 580rx won't identify vellum paper

Ran into the same problem. The problem is that the printer's paper sensor sees through the vellum and therefore doesn't think any paper moved into the print position. To use vellum, fold up 1/4" edge on a standard peice of print paper and place the leading edge of the vellum under the flap. Place the paper and vellum into the printer and print. The printer will pull in the paper and the vellum together. Make the paper fold tight and straight to prevent jamming. You will need to feed one sheet at a time. Also the Epson inks take a long time to dry on vellum. I let mine dry overnight.

Printer won't take thick envelopes

You need to use the bypass tray that is located on the fron of the machine (pull out where indent is), from their you need to select thick paper setting in the printer properties and thick paper in the printer properties.

Paper mismatch

Hi kingwa55,

I have an hp photosmart c4480 and was having the same problem printing wedding invitations. Same size 5.5"x8.5'. Im not sure if this will work on your printer, but this is what I had to do.

Click on Print, then Properties, then features.
About half way down there is a drop down box under sizing options.
Click on custom
Create a name, and put your width and height in.
Click Save and then OK
Completely X out of the print options.
Then Click
File, print, properties, features, click the drop down box under sizing options.
Click more and scroll to the bottom and it should be there.

If your options are different then mine, I'm sorry for wasting your time.
