Hi, at the left side of the tonearm base you will find a grommet or hole. Insert flat blade screwdriver and adjust to set correct start stop position. Cheers John.

SOURCE: Sony PS-LX250H turntable won't turn

I have the same trouble so I gave it a push and after manually spinning the table and then putting through it's sequence a few times it worked fine!....but now it's started to run at a speed half way between 33 and 45rpm. To see if its just a stuck motor, remove the table lift the arm move it over so it's trying to drive then just rotate the pulley clockwise between finger and thumb.

If your needle just started to skip across the LP, then that means your stylus is damaged/worn and needs to be replaced. It's very hard to see the diamond tip on the stylus, and it might not even be there at all. So checking it might not yield any results. This is what happens when the needle is worn. It will skip across the record.

SOURCE: turntable starts playing record middle 1st song

The tonearm lift is no longer level as it should be and the arm is sliding along it under gravity as the arm lowers to the record. Has it received a knock?

Have a close look to see whether it has been tilted slightly. That would be enough to give the problem.

Power supply Sony PS-LX10

Connect the RCA phono plug wires usually red and white wires with plugs to a receiver or amplifier in the back of it to phono in. New receivers will not work unless you have a phono preamp. Best to buy a vintage stereo receiver or amplifier with the correct connections. Make sure you connect the ground wire which is usually a small black wire coming from the turntable to an receiver or amplifier. Turn the stereo receiver on phono. Connect it to any screw attached to metal on back or look for a ground screw. If you do not attach it it will hum.

I just replaced the stylus on my sony PS-LX300USB turntable, but now there is a constant static on even my new records

You have either knocked the connections to the cartridge causing a loose connection, or not seated the stylus right. Or you have static build up, which can be caused by poor earthing.

My stylus arm exerts 4 grams weight

Four grams seems a little much. I find it hard to believe Sony relied solely on an inaccessible spring for stylus pressure adjustment. Back in the day, we used to tape a coin on top of the back end of the tone arm to adjust pressure so it may be necessary to improvise

Need a new stylus for my turntable SONY PS-LX250H and cannot seemed to find a new one. where can I get a new one at.

Assuming it is the original ATN-3600 cartridge, a simple web search for "sony ps-lx250h replacement stylus" or "atn3600 stylus" locates some.

If the cartridge is something different you should search for that model's stylus, not one for the TT itself.

While trying to replace the needle/stylus for my turntable, the metal part (possibly called a cartridge) came out instead ... now i can put it in and will stay but it is just resting there, it feels as if...

Depending on the cartridge design the stylus is part of an assembly that typically just slides out. It will look like this if you have the original one...

http://www.lptunes.com/Elliptical-stylus-for-Sony-PS-LX300USBE-turntable-p/stpslx0300usbe.htm

The whole thing just presses in and friction is all that holds it in place. The actual stylus ("highly polished special elliptical diamond") is that little tiny point on the skinny metal piece ("thin wall aluminum alloy cantilever"). THAT part is NOT a subassembly for you to take off.

Just received our Sony PS-LX300USB turntable, but cannot get the stylus to stay on. Any suggestions on how to install the stylus?

Hold the stylus at an angle, rear up/needle down. Put the rear of the stylus in first and then push the front of the stylus up and clip into place.

Which stylus number did you use?

My turntable starts in the middle of the record only after me helping it start spinning.

you need a flat key that slots in where the rubber grommit is on the turntable platform. Remove the rubber stopper, use a flat head screwdriver into the slot inside the hole, out an old record on the turntable, and try the play button to see where the arm now lands ( dont forget to put the stylus protector on to prevent needle damage! ) and then keep making small adjustments till the arm starts at the beginning of the record. I actually have an original sony flat key should you want it? but to be honest a long shaft screwdriver is perfectly adequate for the task? email me at lesliemurphy_964@msn.com if you want the key though?
