Question about HP Photosmart C5180 All-In-One InkJet Printer
I had a similar problem of a senseless printer error code with similar useless help from HP for one of my client's HP Photosmart 7510. I also could not find any other relevant help online. But, while searching, I did notice a suggestion to clean the contacts. When I removed the ink cartridge carrier, I noticed a large build-up of ink around the nozzles. Cleaning out the carrier did the trick for me. It couldn't hurt to give it a try.
Follow the steps below if you need them. And, please click "Yes" below if this has helped you at all.
Remove the carrier: Open the printer to access the ink cartridges. Slide out the ink cartridge carrier if it is parked. Remove all of the cartridges. Then flip the lever to the right of the carrier. Grasp the carrier using your thumb on one side and index/middle finger on the right, both near the top, and pull straight upward. Careful, yours may be more full of ink than my client's was.
Clean the carrier: Wash the carrier in a sink with warm/hot water at various angles until all noticeable ink is cleared away. Briefly wash water directly into the carrier's induction screens which contact the sponges of the ink cartridges. This may help a little to flush any ink from the nozzles which might have dried in them while the printer was inoperable.
Remove most of the water: Shake the carrier downward (only while upright) and tip the carrier forward and side ways. But, be careful since some ink will still be contained in the carrier's ink channels. Pay close attention to the induction screens. If you tip it too far or shake while inverted, ink may splash out through the screens or drain back onto the carrier. If this does occur, repeat the cleaning procedure.
Note: Do not attempt to drain all of the ink from the channels, whether through the induction screens or through the nozzles on the underside of the carrier.
Dry the carrier contacts: Lightly wipe the tiny metallic white squares on the backside of the carrier with a dry paper towel. Spot dry the surrounding area, including the nozzle arrays on the underside of the carrier - dab, don't wipe. You should get ink spots on the towel from the nozzles. This is to be expected and is a sign that the nozzles are not clogged (at least not completely).
Inspect the carrier transport: Examine the area with the metal prongs that were exposed when the carrier was removed. Dab dry any areas with ink if you find any, especially near the metal prongs. If you discover any ink on the prongs, use a wet, but drip-dried cloth or towel to continuously dab the prongs until they are clean. Then dab with a dry cloth or towel. Re-inspect and ensure any lint or other debris is removed from the prongs.
Reassemble and test: Return the carrier to the transport, flip the locking lever to the downward position, return the ink cartridges, and then test your printer.

IssueAn 0xc18xxxxx or 0xc19xxxxx ink system error code displays on the front panel. The printer cannot copy, receive faxes, or print.
Press the On button to turn the printer off.
Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
Remove all the ink cartridges.
Wait two minutes.
Plug the power cord into the back of the printer.
Press the On button to turn the printer on.
Install the ink cartridges when prompted.
If the error code does not display, the issue is resolved.
If the 0xc18xxxxx or 0xc19xxxxx ink system error code displays on the front panel, service the printer.

Let us perform some steps to isolate the issue and find a fix for it.
Please perform the following steps and let me know the message that will be displayed on the printer.
A. - Press and hold the “*” key.
B. - Press the “#” key and release both keys.
Display should say “Enter Special Key Combo”
C. - Press and release in sequence the “1”, “2” and “3” buttons.
Screen says "support" R0631M
Press and release the right arrow button until the display says “System Configuration Menu”.
Press and release the “OK” button.
Display should say “Hardware failure status”. If not there already, Arrow Key over to “Hardware failure status”,
Press and release the “OK” button.
Display should say “Hardware failure status: Clear. Press OK to clear”.
Press and release the “OK” Button. Message changes to “Hardware failure status Cleared. Press Cancel to continue”.
Press and release the “CANCEL” button as many times as necessary, so that, either the “Welcome to Photosmart Express” screen appears, or, the “Ink System Failure” screen appears. PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO PRINT AT THIS STAGE.
Using the Power Button, turn the unit OFF and unplug the power cable from back of the printer and wall outlet.
Wait 30 seconds for the power to get discharged and then plug the power cable into the wall outlet first and then into the back of the printer
turn the unit on. The printer may display message “USE POWER BUTTON TO SHUTDOWN THE PRINTER” followed by “PRESS OK TO CONTINUE”. Press OK. The Printer will start the “ONE TIME INK INITIALIZATION PROCESS”. Allow this process to complete and do not interrupt. Once the initialization process is complete, the printer will print out a Diagnostic Page.
Is the error message still being displayed on the printer?
Print a self test page to check the functionality of the printer.
Press Setup menu on the All-in-One then scroll using the arrow key and select Print Report then select Self Test Report.

I found this I know your error not in here but it may work for
It worth a try nothing to lose and it may work.
I know your error code is not in this but it some times it clean the error with this type of error number you can gave it a go try not harm it

Reset the product:
1. Without turning off the product, disconnect the USB cable from the rear of the product.
2. Remove the cartridges from the product.
3. Wait for the 'Insert Cartridges ' message to display on the control panel.
4. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the product.
5. Wait 60 seconds.
6. Reconnect the power cord. If the product does not automatically turn on, press the Power button ( ).
7. Reinsert the cartridges, and then close any open doors on the product.
8. If you receive a prompt to print a calibration page, do so.
9. Reconnect the USB cable to the rear of the product, and then try printing again.
