Question about Epson Office Equipment & Supplies

Open Question

Epson Aculaser C1600 goes into error mode, makes a juddering noise for a few seconds then nothing. This happened after a cartridge replacement, the replaced cartridge went in okay as normal and rotated inside but I cannot get the printer to rotate inside for next cartridge.

Thank you everyone who replied to my problem with C1600, I tried RESET button but no response from the printer so turned power off and opened top compartment, removed the PHOTOCONDUCTOR unit and slotted it back into position. The printer is now behaving, there may be a connection between photoconductor unit and the ink toner mechanism.

SOURCE: Epson Stylus SX400 "Ink cartridges cannot be recognized"

Try this: First check which cartridge(s) are not being recognized. In my case where I replaced all three color cartridges, two were recognized right away but one was not. You find out by sending a print request to the printer and looking at the ink cartridge levels diagram in the dialog window. In my case two of three were fine but one had a red X on it. So I removed it and cleaned the contacts with alcohol then rocked it in the slot after pressing it in. It was recognized and the charging process began as normal.

Have just replaced Black Toner on Epson aculaser c2800 and now repeated regular pattern of smudges on every page (8 columns and 10 smudges per page)

This is caused by the toner cartridges. The manufacturer change an internal component to save a few coppers and this is the result. Usually only happens when the toner cartridge is old and the 'foam roller' in the toner cartridge starts to get a bit 'sticky' - as happens with some types of foam when it ages.

Two cures for the problem

1. Change the cartridge - make sure it is 'fresh'

2 Find an old cartridge with the old type of foam roller (plain full width) and swap this and its support into the cartridge to replace the new (spiral foam) roller

Same again - replacing K Toner with a brand new one but still not

Could you be more specific about your problem with regards to your printer.

I would suggest try to reinstall your printer and update your driver.

Check for any pending printer task and cancel them.

Try to replace all your toner cartridge

If still nothing happens contact your supplier.

Not taking paper and making a grinding noise

Sounds like one of your cartridges has been damaged. I had this after I had re-set one. Take them out and check the rollers for scratch marks. Then replace the damaged cartridge.

RESET TONER C9100

The waste toner cartridge has a transparent extrusion on the bottom, which fills with toner when the cartridge is full, but also if it is half full and shaken so that toner falls into this extrusion. If this happens, the only way to remove the toner is to open the cartridge by removing the tape, taking the two halves apart and shaking/blowing/hoovering it empty. You can stick them together again with ordinary sellotape.
