, hi ,well you will need two of them for a start( 24v) , GEL batteries can supply much more amp than a car battery for a longer given time, where a car battery will start to drop off voltage wise a good GEL will hold up the voltage for longer, this is the important part most mobility scooter controller will start to cut out around 18 volts or less.

What type of batteries does this model take?.jb.

you need 12v 33ah sealed deep cycle battery most likely it may need two batteries any thing above 33 amp hours would also be ok. A higher Ah the longer the batteries last. This information on the type of battery is from the user manual.
Any battery type store should be able to supply this to you .

Can you jump the batteries on the TSS300

If you mean jumping the batteries like you would a car; no this not possible with the AGM batteries. You should have 12v 32-35AH AGM batteries in the TSS 300.

Page 44 of the manual for your chair specifies size NF-22 batteries if the power seat option is installed, otherwise size Group 24 can be used. (See this battery size table.) You should use batteries with the highest amp-hour rating that will fit and you can afford; the amp-hour rating determines how long you can run on a full charge. Evidently the power seat mechanism takes up space needed for the Group 24 (79 Amp-hour), so you have to go to the somewhat smaller NF-22 (55 Amp-hour). Don't mess around with a 50 Amp-hour battery at a higher price when the 55 A-hr units will fit.

Batteries die fast on my mobility scooter.

Hi. What size batteries you buy will be limited to the amount of room you have in the machine.
17 amp hour batteries are really a bit small for any mobility equipement. A lot of power chairs have 35 or 40 amp/hour batteries.
Buy the biggest that will fit into the available space.
Batteries are designed to perform a certain number of "charge cycles". If you run your batteries down by 75%, you will only get a small number of "charge cycles". If you only use 25% of the batteries capacity, you will get 100's of "charge cycles".
The best I have seen is 7 years out of a set of batteries. Short trips and recharging after each trip is the reason.
Good luck. Neil.

Replacing the battery on a mobility scooter

hi, ok remove the seat by turning it to the left, there is a lever normally on the right side that will allow it be turned round,

once you done that, lift the seat in a upwards motion, the cover should come away by gemerally lifting it, it should be attached by velco underneath,

you should now see two batteries. 40Ah batteries will allow you to go further if the battery Ah is lower, 50ah batteries again will allow you can go even further NOT faster, if you buy the larger AH batteries please make sure the dimensions of the batteries will fit within the scooter battery holders.
