Question about Dyson DC07 Animal Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum
We have a dyson DC07 with "carpet" and "bare floor" selector. I noticed today that the brush bar was not rotating, even while the vacuum was on its side. I have discovered that if I wanted to replace the belt, there is a black shroud covering the motor shaft where the belt should go. I cannot seem to remove this shroud to allow me to see the shaft. Any tricks on how to do this?
At the point where the shroud is around the drive belt of the motor there is a screw that has to be remeoved. It is accessible through a hole in the housing that is inset about 3 1/2 inches. Once this is removed along with the 2 screws at the base of the clutch housing, the shroud can be removed. Interestingly enough, though, I cannot figure out how to replace the brush belt even though I feel the clutch is the broken piece. Anyway, a new clutch with belts runs about 35-60 USD.
