Kenwood KVT-817 brain, Is the brain needed or can I use without?

Not much you can do my friend , I tried locating and using my resources to find you a Brain and it looks like its discontinued, Im sorry to say but this guy played you, he sold you the head unit without the brain, its really messed when people take advantage of honest people like yourself. Try ebay here and there if not your just going to have to upgrade my friend, sorry.

Good luck,

Kenwood KVT-815DVD Unit only buzzes

I bought a Kenwood KVT-815dvd player and got everything hooked up to only find out that it had a security code. The problem now is that I got it from a pawn store and they did not even know that it had a security code on it. So is their a way I can bypass they password or just reset the whole unit so that it does not have one. Also, where is the memory for this unit?
Thank you

All of the Compatible Kenwood Units will have Bluetooth Printed on the Face in Small Letters. If yours Does not, Go to and they will have the Connectors that you need for this to be done. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!

Contact the manufacture and tell them your kid was playing around with it and accidently locked it. They might make you send it in or/and charge you a fee. Good luck.

Buy the same unit new in box then ask for code to see what they say. Then return the new unit keep the code. Because this time the new unit would have a serial number and receipt, they would just give you the code over the set and won't make you send it in and it still under warranty so the would be no extra charge. Just an idea though. Goodluck. Let me know if it work.
