Question about Lowrance Boating
I have installed an Lowrance EP-85R storage device to my network to display and record fuel usage from my E-tec. The storage works well as I can record and display all fuel data on my LFM-400 gauges, however every trip I do at different time intervals the storage unit will reset and display strange figures. The i am forced to reset all data. Please help as this defeats the purpose of installing the device.
How much memory space do you have on your chip if you use up all memory it will delete all to make room for new memory

Your transducer needs to be adjusted so the return signal can be picked up. Some of these have to be super tuned to receive the signal. Also the transducer may be moving ever so slightly when the boat is traveling at speed. You may have some water turbulence interference all contibute to signal return.

SOURCE: How does my Lowrance HDS-5
To connect a LRA 2400 to a Lowrance HDS-5 sounder/chartplotter, you can run an ethernet RJ45 cable from your Radar Processing box to the HDS-5 unit. You will need an adaptor cable for the RJ 45 cable to hook into the HDS-5 head unit. This is part no 000-0127-56.
As for the different transducer pinouts, I am not sure what transducer you have now so I cannot say if there is any kind of converter plug available, however, the HDS-5 units do seem to run best using the transducers that are made for them. Your best option may be to buy the transducer that is made for them, and this will directly connect to the display unit.
Hope that helps!
