SOURCE: I am a resent owner of a 5m62 Seiko Kinetic watch.

If you don't wear the watch often enough to keep it charged then another solution is to purchase (maybe online) a rather inexpensive mechanical rotating device (nice looking too) that you put your watch into and it rotates and keeps your watch always fully charged. Works great at night when you come home. I am guessing maybe less than $30. I have one and it is the only way to go.

SOURCE: I do not know how

This watch operates on a capacitor which is charged by movement. It does not wind, but it has a weight that charges the capacitor by motion.

Take the watch in hand by placing your fingers under the caseback and your thumb on the crystal. Use a horizontal motion (landscape) to move the watch back and forth quickly approximately one foot left and right. You should feel the internal weight move.

Do this for at least five minutes. If the watch does not start to operate (the second hand does not move at one second increments) then either the capacitor must be replaced, or the movement is defective.

You may send the watch directly to Seiko for service, or I would strongly suggest visiting your local Certified Master Horologist for what is usually a free assessment and estimate of the repair.

If you are following the above directions, you have done nothing wrong, but the movement or capacitor needs to be replaced.

If you have just purchased this watch and the instructions do not resolve your situation, I would promptly return it and exchange it, as the model may have been sitting for a while, and have a bad capacitor.

Is there a way to get seiko to repair my 7N43-8A38 "A1" Watch?

If it has a battery op movement you could have a non original batt op movt installed for 15 bucks and it will work like new but if it is a mechanical movement then you will have to replace necessary damaged parts

I purchased a Seiko divers watch in Canada approx 25 years ago. It had an English-French day wheel. Unfortunately the interior became damaged beyond repair. The case and strap remain in perfect condition....

You could ask Seiko via their web site. If this watch is of value to you, send it to their service center for repair. They can fully advicse you as to the cost and other factors important to you. Go here: http://www.seikowatches.com/support/faq/repairs.html

I am a resent owner of a 5m62 Seiko Kinetic watch. My Question is, How long does it take for my watch to get to full charge?

It should only take about a week of daily wear. Seiko's website may tell you differently, but in my experience it usually takes about a week.

Can I use an ordinary button cell in a seiko kinetic

I have been trained by a Master watch maker and I have worked on many Seiko Kinetic watches. Yes the original watches came with a capacitor that is charged by your arm movement. But unfortunately, they seem to only last a few years. All replacements are now done with a Lithium Ion battery that is much better and lasts longer than the original capacitor. This is the correct solution and don't try to use a battery type that is used in other quartz watches.
