I need instructions on removing the cover to replace the battry.microsoft wireless notebook laser mouse 7000.

  • Press the "button with the star symbol" while prying up the top cover of the mouse's body to replace the batteries. If the batteries have power, the LED on the underside of the mouse will illuminate.
  • 2 Plug the receiver component into an open and working USB port on your computer. Your computer should make a noise when the receiver is connected, and the system tray will show that you have connected new hardware. Some USB ports may not be compatible, so it is important to try several ports to find one that works.
  • 3 Press and hold the "connect" buttons on the underside of the mouse and on the receiver for several seconds to refresh the connection. An interrupted connection will cause jerky or inconsistent on-screen performance of the Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 7000.

If it used to light up and now doesn't, it's probably gone bad. You did the correct thing in testing it on another computer.
If it has a little "connect" button on it, push that button.
Also push the "connect" buttons on the mouse and keyboard.
    See if that helps.

Microsoft wireless notebook laser mouse 6000 not working

I have a miscrosoft wireless laser mouse 6000, and it also stopped working on my laptop. I changed the battery, still no workie. I tested the battery in another device, and it was good. I moved the mouse to another computer, and it did not work. The light on the usb connector was lit. [No changes at all to my laptop.]. It seemed like there was no power to the mouse, and I looked at the contacts inside the mouse. The contact just inside the mouse's opening for the battery appeared to be bent down (away from the contact on the battery tray). So, I pulled it up a little so it would connect when the battery drawer closed, and (after tweaking it a couple of times), it finally worked!

    Sakar wireless optical mouse

Make sure the mouse laser is on. If it isn't, your batteries are either not making contact or are bad. Reset the connection with the little button next to the laser. Reboot.
