Yes, they go bad, but not nearly as ofter as thremocouples.  The thermocouples are cheap. I would try another first. I have had new, bad ones.  Make sure that flame is licking the thermocouple well.

I installed a faucet for my vessel sink and the water is only a trickle, is this normal or should I return it?

Check that your shutoff valves are open.
Also, it often happens that debris gets dislodged and blocks the valve.

Ihave stopcocks in various places about 5or 6 in all they are all stuck and i am unable to shift them.I need an urgent solution as I want shut the 1. mains supply,2.change the boiler 3.change taps etc.Pls....

If the stopcocks are gate type valves there may be a nut holding on the knob/hand wheel on to the spindle on the stopcock, you could try using a socket wrench to get more torque on the shaft. Don't put excessive force on the wrench or you may wring the shaft as sometimes this is actually narrower inside the stopcock than the section you can see externally.
If you can get your hands on a heat gun you could also try heating the section of the stopcock which surrounds the shaft for about a minute. This may expand it enough to free it. You just have to be extremely careful if you are using it in a confined space close to timber, plastic, gas or other combustible material or you could end up starting a fire. You could shield the wall behind the valve with a piece of floor tile.

I do not have a mixing valve on my boiler, will this create mixing problems? Sometimes it mixes ok. other times it is all hot or cold. I replaced the cartridge once. This system is only a couple of months...

If your posi-temp valve is working correctly this should not be a problem. Does your hot water temp. ever get extremly hot or just warmer? The way the posi-temp cartridge is designed if you have a large drop jn cold water pressure then the inside piston is supposed to slide to the hot side restricting the flow of hot water to a safe level. If the pressure on the hot side drops suddenly then the valve is supposed to restrict cold water flow.
If the temperature gets to a unsafe level you can adjust maximum hot setting by removing the handle. There is a allen head set screw on the bottom of the handle. Loosen screw and pull handle off. On the newer models pull off chrome sleeve from around valve body and slide outer geared disc off enough to seperate from inner gear. There are markings on disc with arrow pointing to h. or c. Adjust outer disc in the direction you want to adjust and slide it back so that gears engage. Each tooth on gears will change water temp. about2-3 degrees.Try it and readjust till you get the hot set point you want. One other thing you could do is install a small pressure tank on cold water line to compensate for pressure changes. Hope yhis helps you. Thanks

I have an Irritrol Irrigation system (RainDial PLUS)

With the water turned on you may be able to hear or feel the water running through the bad valve. If not, you can turn each one on and off by hand by either turning the solenoid or the bleeder valve figure out which one it's not. Once you find the culprit you can see if it needs a new solenoid or open it up to clear out any sediment or debris that's keeping it from closing.

Your problem is most likely a bad cartridge.#1 turn off water in house #2 remove handle #3 you will see a horseshoe shaped clip that holds in cartridge remove clip and try to pull cartridge straight out you may need to purchase a moen cartridge removal tool for easier removal and install new cartridge and replace horseclip

Slow flow, spray will not stay on.

you need pressure to make the spray stay on so maybe check the valve under the sink to see if it has turn almost off, that happen when the pull out nozzle gets returned and the heavy weight on the hose hits the hose
