Hi
may be the installation software is not working, what you need to do is take the cd out from the computer and just plugg the wireless adapter, when you plug in the wireless adapter it will tell you to insert the cd that came with the usb card so that the software can be installed, once you see this message insert the cd and then follow the setup screen(imp thing:incase you see the screen of the linkys installation donot follow that, follow the windows software setup screen) this will install the software and i am sure the software will get installed if the software has totally gone bad then here is a link you can donwnload the software from website and then try the installation

I am using Windows 7 Ultimate. Why did the LAN vanish and internet stop working?

When it did work before under Windows 7, there should not be a problem with any driver.
Put the Windows disk in the DVD player and start the disk. Say you want to install Windows, Then the computer gives you some options, choose the repair Windows option. Don't do the new installation, because you would lose all data.
Now it is the network, next time your Hard Disk. Did you make a backup already?
I would advice to make a backup, before you try to solve this problem.

If the USB comes with a installation CD so i guess the put the "DISK" means you need to open the files on the CD and click on the setup program to install the driver.

I suspect the "Drivers" folder may end up on YOUR PC's Hard Drive? The "Setup" may extract the files & Driver to a directory on your PC, OR into Program Files. & the "Drivers" will be there? after you run setup, go to device manager select the device and Update Drivers, get it to search the PC to find it, or if you have found it, then point it in the right direction.

My installation is stuck at 30%

  • Hey, Have to also make sure the wireless adapter is not plugged while installing (only when prompted to plug it in)
  • You can try downloading a NEW installer from the Linksys website. (maybe the cd is scratched?...) Here is a link to the Driver/installer, for your adapter. (This is a WindowsXP Driver)
  • Try installing the driver using that, and then plug in your wireless adapter when the setup program prompts for you to do so.
Report back if there are any more complications or issues that occur during the above process,

I'll be happy to assist you further.
I Hope This Helps.

Lost the disk

you should be able to get the driver from www.netgear.com. In the support section. Download straight to disc so you always have it handy and then normal install - think you will have to unzip files first if I remember rightly
