Question about Acer Aspire 5100 Notebook
I have an Acer aspire 5100-5674 notebook.
The cd dvd drive will not show up in bios or device manager. I did the filters and bios system defaults. I just replaced the drive and nothing has worked.
The driver will power and act like its reading but nothing happens. I called acer and they were no help. They wanted me to install a patch for Power dvd which did not work because the program was never on my system. I have been all new ideas. I know it could be the motherboard but want exhaust all other ideas before going there. I am open to new ideas.
Hi, it is usual to drives not recognized if it is new and connected to the system. Now, try this one to make it active. Go to Control Panel, Performance and Maintenance, Administrative Tools, Computer Management.
Under Computer Management, expand Storage->Disk Management. On the results panel, Right Click the Volume(X:) then click Mark Partition as Active or click Reformat.
*I hope this fixes your problem. If you have problems, please drop me a comment and I'll gladly help you.
