Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

SOURCE: i cant see any network icon on my laptop

Download the drivers you require from the DELL WEB site, their support/download page. I suggest you use the Service Tag number that is printed on the label on the bottom of the laptop. This will ensure you will get the correct drivers for your model laptop.

Ensure that there are no items in the cd or usb drives. Go to control panel and delete the battery icon in the device manager. Re boot the system and that will reinstall the battery icon and give you an accurate reading.

How to unlock my dell laptop

If you can tell me what the Os do you use, it could be must better.

On XP you can try this:
Boot computer and press Ctrl+Alt+Delete twice when you See Windows welcome screen / login screen. It'll show classic login box. Now type "Administrator" (without quotes) in username field and leave password field blank, press Enter and you should be able to login Windows.
Now you can reset your account password from "Control Panel -> User Accounts".

On Win 7 or Vista:
Ctrl+Alt+Delete won't work, you have to use some windows password reset tool. I recommend Windows Password Reset.

Vostro 1520 screen goes blank if cover is opened more than 1/4 of the way

There's a sensor (LCD Lid Close Control Switch) that has gone bad. The sensor controls when the display is shown or not shown based on the position of the lcd lid.

Dell Latitude E5400 screen goes blank on boot

don't install the 'super antispyware' as it could be spamware. There are a lot of these types of 'registry cleaners' out there that don't help but hurt your machine.

Try to recover or restore to an earlier time, and you may have to reinstall windows if you have the discs.

By default Windows XP displays the Graphic login screen with icons and usernames at startup.

If you would like to use the more traditional Windows NT login screen you can get to that screen by pressing Ctrl Alt Del (Reboot key sequence) twice.

If you would like to change to the traditional screen at login, instead of the graphic login screen, do the following:
  1. Log in with administrator access.
  2. Click on Start, Control Panel, and select user accounts.
  3. Click on Change the Way Users Log On or Off.
  4. Click on the Box "Use the Welcome Screen" so that there is not check mark.
If you would like to switch from the traditional login screen to the more graphic screen just click on the box in step 4 above so the "Use the Welcome Screen" box is checked
