well once you have the microsoft webcam software installed..
that is the first step then to go to skype and in skype it will have you set up the video and audio upon first use...
iff you have already past first use..
then when you make a call with skype as long as the software is installed then skype will automatically detect this and use it as the default recording device and it searches also for microphones automatically...
so really not much for you to do, once the microsoft webcam is installed then skype setup takes care of the rest...
Any web cam should work with skype. Please configure to use life cam as input for video signals by skype Go to Skype> Tools> options> video settings Please ensure no other application is using web-cam when using it on skype
See section C. Windows Live
Messenger in the info below to setup the Audio & Video. Also send this to your family
and friends so they have their computer setup properly. Web Camera’s have to be
setup on the program they are to be used with.Just installing the camera on your computer does not set it up to
broadcast on messengers or Skype.
Each program has Options that have to be setup in order for
the Audio and Video to function properly. A.Skype Setup:
After downloading and installing Skype (http://www.skype.com/intl/en-gb/download/skype/windows/beta/downloading/)
set it up as follows:
Go to Tools,
then Options, and click on Audio Settings and set the Microphone
and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
click on the Video Settings.
camera if Installed Properly will come up and show a video picture.
on the bottom of the page click on Save.
The camera and audio should function properly.Your friends and Family will now be able to
see and her to you.
This is best done durring installation of Skype, though I believe that you can also do it by going to the Tools menu, selecting Options, then General, and then selecting Video Settings. Also you can run the Skype set-up checker whenever you please, and Skype will call you and allow you to test mics and webcams.

Did you install the software with the camera connected to
the computer? Disconnect the camera from the USB port and reinstall the
software. When the program asks you to connect the camera, do so, and it
should work. Hope this is of some help.Bud
Below is info for setting up Audio & Video to chat
on line after you install , either Skype or a messenger program.
How much memory do you have installed in your
computer? It may need to be, increased, as this is likely to be the cause
of your computer freezing, rebooting, times out, or shutting down.
Hope this is of some help. Bud
