If you do not hear any fans then turn if off immediately before it overheats your CPU and motherboard. You will need to replace the power supply. Any repair shop can do it for a reasonable fee.

Desktop fans will turn on but dont boot up or turn the monitor on allready replce the video card but did not help

Hello there,

OK this problem could be many things or could just be the input on the monitor so lets start at the beginning and go from there one step at a time making sure we check it all .

also i could use more information do you hear the hard drives going i know you said you can hear the Fans so we know the power supply is working on the Fans but is it working for the Hard drive's? System make and model if you have one, if you did a home build give me the system Specs.

Step: 1 Check the connections all the wires/Cables the Power cord make sure both ends are plugged in correctly, check the Monitor Cable Making sure the VGA is also plugged in correctly both Ends.
Step: 2 Check the input on the Monitor if you are using VGA make sure you are on the correct input and so on .
Step: 3 if you have another monitor to another PC or maybe an older one connect it and Test to see if you have a bad monitor .

if all these Steps Fail let me know and we keep going . i hope we can get this problem Fixed

Emachine w5233 keeps shuting down what can i do to fix this problem

Does this happen when you are in your operating system??? and there is prompt that a program or command is promting it shut down, if it is, then it is a viral issue and latest anti visrus needs to be scanned for. If not, then I belive it is a overheating promblem most likely with your CPU. Cpu now come with a technology to override to the computer to shut down when it becomes overheat to prevent it from damaging itself further. Check your cpu fan, you can do this by taking your panel apartby unscrewing two screws from the back of your left side door panel, you then will see the motherboard and inside it you will see a huge fan, try to clean it by blowing off the dust and debris, if possible take the fan out, and apply new termal compund and reesemble to fan back onto the cpu. Make sure it is tight and securely fasten on. You should be good to go, if it still shuts off byitself, then porbraly a bad motherboard, or cpu, which will need to be replaced.

The system powers-up, but no video, or beeping sound heard. the cpu fan is turning. Soyo SY-P4I865PE Plus Dragon 2 V1.0

If you hear the windows chime during bootup then it will be a video problem. 1.) Swap the power cord from the computer to the monitor and vice versa 2.) If computer still working then try a different monitor, 3.) Replace the video card. Hope this helps, Best Regards, -md

I have homebuilt PC that will not boot. When I press the power button the CPU fan spins up, mother board lights, HD's spin up, etc. However, I do not get any display to the monitors (no BIOS self test,...

Press F2 at bootup to enter BIOS. Reset everything as if it a brand new computer. Sitting idle for sevenmonths any computer could have gone dead. Reset HDD, bootup sequence, keyboard etc etc. everything.
