Re: I need to know where the filter is and how to change...
Is the unit in a closet, attic, or basement. if the unit is upright it would be in the bottom of the air handler if you can't find a wall return air grill. in the attic it may be in the end of the unit where the return air duct attaches to the unit. if no luck then someone has removed it and failed to install a new one hopes this helps...

Poisoning A Skunk
Here are types of poison used on skunks:
Anticoagulant (rat poison): Includes warfarin, etc.
Antifreeze (Ethylene glycol)
Bromethalin (a different class of rat poison)
When many people think about killing animal one option that will often come to mind is using poison, but this really isn't a good way to deal with a pest animal. Laying out poison for a skunk can often have unforeseen consequences, and many domestic animals have been killed after getting to a poison that has been laid out for another animal. This is also an inhumane way to kill an animal, and the skunk will often look for a place to hide in safety, which can often lead to people discover a rotting carcass beneath their house or in a cavity in the property.
Raise the truck up and support it with stands, then go under the truck and look at the rear of the engine, the filter is just before the transmission bell housing on the drivers side, carefully remove it use an oil filter wrench if it is to tight, have a drain pan under the truck so thai oil won't go all over your pretty clean driveway. Once the old filter is removed take a little motor oil and lubricate the new filter O ring seal with oil and fill the filter about half full of oil, then thread it onto the adapter on the engine, turn it until it just contacts the metal sealing surface of the oil filter adapter on the engine, then tighten it 2/3 more turn. You are done
not usually, the oil pump picks up and gets to pressure pretty quickly. you can do that but some oil will drain away before you get the filter cover back on. at least when the bike is on its side you dont make a mess removing the old filter
i would definately change the filter
they are usually only good for 6 mos
or 400 gals
without knowing if its dripping from the housing
i would start with changing the filter and see if that takes care of it
i just checked and thesea re on sale
30.00 is pretty cheap
i used to sell these off my truck as a maytag guy
let me knoe
should have a cover on top of the engine, lift cover , there will be a cylindrical Fuel Filter housing with a lever on the side and a cap on top. remove the cap, remove the old filter & install the new filter & the NEW seals. use the little lever to drain the old fuel & any water from the fitler housing & start engine per normal Diesel starting procedures
If there is a Auto Zone around your area, you can get the oil and filter there with the step by step instructions needed to get the job gone. There is a oil filter wrench for you to buy to remove the old oil filter, buy the oil filter cup that attaches to the ratchet, the other wrenches tend to crush the filters. Keep me posted be glad to answer any questions and give you instructions to the oil change procedure if Auto ZOne could not help you or there is not one around you.
fuel filter housing on driver side of motor. need the correct size of socket to remove the lid. unscrew lid and pull straight up to remove filter. remove old filter from lid and install new filter and seal. drain old fuel/water from housing. then reinstall filter into housing. tigthten lid then make sure the petcock is closed from draining it earlier. bump the starter a couple times to fill the filter housing then start engine. clean any spilled fuel and your done
Listen people...it isn't a skunk! My elantra smells like a skunk too and I am sure I didn't hit one. I think that it might be my battery; since battery acid and skunk smell are chemically the same. This is what I am checking next.
