Fly, sounds like you blew the thermal fuse. This is located on the front blower. You will need to remove door by removing the two screws and lifting up on the hinge. Remove the 2 spacers on the other side of the door. Now the panel will pull out and the blower will be exposed. The fuse will look like the one on the right of the attached picture....Catriver..post back.

SOURCE: Our Maytag gas dryer will not heat up.

check if there is voltage across the igniter. if there's no voltage, trace the diagram and you might stumble on a thermal fuse that is busted.also, check the gas solenoid. the ignitor could be heating up but if you dont have gas then there will be no ignition...

SOURCE: maytag gas dryer, no heat, ignitor wont glow

The machine will check all safety features first. check the overlimit by the burner. It may have a reset. If not, turn power off and check continuity (ohms). Good luck.

SOURCE: maytag gas dryer MDG6400AWW heats up for 2 minutes

turn gas off to dryer. For safety it is best not to wait get your gas company to find leak(i don't think they charge for that)if it is at the control valve you should take the screws that hold the coils down out.Remove coils and rubber O rings and replace all with new ones it comes as a kit

I have a Maytag dryer model DG412 that recently stopped heating. I replaced the igniter and it worked for a few minutes then stopped again. When I removed the igniter it broke into pieces.

Usually if it heats for few minutes then doesn't relight one of the coils has gone bad. They come as a pair as you know somake sure you replace both. You have done everything right so far... You do have bad coils though.

Neither oven or broiler work. Upper elements work well. Why is the bake light flashing / blinking?

if it is not coming on then you may have the same problem again with the ignitor.

Brand new Maytag dryer has been coverted to propane and it keeps breaking (not heating up). The service contractor replaced some parts, tested it and worked fine for 1 day. Today I washed a blanket and...

even though the you might have a new dryer the vent line could be blocked with lint,or there are other parts that could go on a gas dryer, bad thermal fuse, gas coils, ignitor, sensor one of the thermostats, the only way to tell is to get in there with a meter, unplug the dryer remove at least one of the wires on the part you're checking and check the parts for continuity.that's a neptune those are the machines that put maytag out of bussiness a few years ago,i don't think it's new.you can go here and look up the parts i told you to check,if you need anymore help let me know.

Running but not firing & heating

The problem is the dryer coils are failing. They tend to fail as they heat up. They are inexpensive and easy to replace. There is a video at http://appliancehelponline.com/gdryertroublevideo.html that will walk you thru this.

You might have a hot surface ignitor that if broken can fall off and be somewhat difficult to locate by sight having never replaced one before.
Look at the new parts base as thats all you may have showing.
The ignitor regarless of type is very close to the gas manifold temination
going into the combustion compartment.
Replacing the new ignitor BE CAREFUL not to touch or bump the ignitors surface or it may fry out before you leave! they break easily!
I would use magnetic nutdrivers, its either 1/4 or 5/16 inch on most everything, very handy for furnace and AC work too

Maytag DG 412 won't stay lit

If the dryer can be restarted within 1 minute and it starts again it's not likely the coils. It may be poor air flow causing the safety thermostat on the flame tunnel going off as a warning. If it takes several minutes off to make it start again, it's likely the coils. When they cool down the broken coil contracts and the broken ends come back together (you can't see this). The coil kit number is 12001348 for the DG412.

Be careful not to break the ignitor when you service these...it is VERY prone to breakage. Turn off gas and electricity before servicing.
