Resource hog DIAG

I have a problem with CPU resources. It MIGHT be java related idk. While playin an online java game IE window(s) freezes solid. I have also noticed this when I go to PCpitstop (IE java extension fails). It does not seem to matter whether it's IE 6 or 7.

It may also be how java is run on my system because some games that have played on my machine no longer will.

Keyboard problems

I'm quite sure this isnt a problem with your keyboard. To verify this, you could plug in an external keyboard and check if there's any latency.

There's got to be some process running in the background that is hogging the cpu resources. Assuming you are running on Windows, use the Task manager or Resource monitor and sort the processes on CPU usage. End all the applications you aren't using.

Also, boot in safemode and scan your system for malwares.

Hello, I have owned a Roland V Studio 20 for around 8 months now and it had worked perfectly until about 3 weeks ago when songs that I had already recorded and played back fine suddenly started getting...

Kill all spyware and anti-virus programs and internet connections and wireless WHILE doing audio work. ALL these resource HOGS **** time from your processor and cause overuns of the buffers in your audio interface.

Do a control-alt-del to bring up the Windows task manager and look at what processes are running and sucking processing time. Even things that check for updates sit there and periodically grab processing power.

When burning CD's the same goes as well... during burns, the processor needs to be purged of these interrupting resource hogs.

In the last three weeks I have been continuously hit with updates from Adobe, MS, and Sun (Java) that interrupt and **** time, often at the most inappropriate times. These continous scanners for updates MAY be what are hitting you. Do any updates and then kill and disallow updates while doing your audio work.

Crackling and popping during playback/recording, latency issues. Using Firestudio Project, Windows 7 and Cubase 5.

Turn OFF all resource hogs such as Anti-virus, Anti-pop-up, and other background programs. Disconnect all internet access such as wireless and Ethernet service programs. All these resource hogs and programs for instance that keep track of when to run scans just cause interrupts of the servicing of the high speed audio grabbers. Your machine should be BARE of all these hogs.

My facebook games are very slow. Can use different computer and they are fine. My games keep freezing. any ideas?

First how much memory do you have? How much memory is free? Next check what processes are running (the task manager is a good place to start). Use msconfig.exe (Start > Run > msconfig) to disable programs from launching at boot up. Check the system for viruses and other malware. What browser are you using and what plugins are loaded. Try disabling all the plugins and reenable them one at a time. There may be one that is a resource hog.

The other standard issues to check: clear the browser cache (Tools > Internet Options for IE, Tools > Options > Advanced > Network tab in Firefox) , run the defragmentation utility on the hard disk (Computer > right click on Local Disc (C:) and choose Properties > Tools). Use a registry cleaner to compact the Windows registry (very carefully - back up the registry first).

I hope this helps.

The game starts but shows no resources in the resource 7 .also nothing on the civilization menu.

Could be down to a bug so check that the game is patched up to date, If not try to reinstall cause maybe it got corrupted.
Good Luck

Freezes up during game, have to save game after each battle.

I had a problem with one unit that was freezing up after
about 3-5 min from a cold start . The GPU was solidly
re-flowed to the board , Then I Carefully re-flowed the
CPU and this fix the problem . Freezing in some
cases is related to the CPU .

Explorer.exe uses all available CPU

Norton anti-virus is a resource HOG. Disable it from running at start-up. It may be trying to download updates as the pc is booting. Use AVG anti virus, it is free and works very well.

Really slow ,keeps freezing up cpu and ram seem to struggle

Quick test for this is to see what is running using that CPU and RAM up. Press ALT CTRL and DEL, then processes, order it by clicking on cpu and seeing the process that is eating it all up. If you recognize it, see if there are any fixes or newer versions, if not stop using it and see if there is another you can use instead. Otherwise, come back here and toss you top five resource hog processes and the amount of memory they are using here, we will see if we can help further.
